Marie - have to say I am with you on the privacy thing - I was brought up the same way.
Mummysaver - I have to say I had probs similar to your OH's when I got together with my (now) DH. His 3 kids had been used to just coming into his bedroom without even knocking, and he couldn't see the problem until I pointed out that it would probably be traumatic for them if they caught us 'in action' as it were!!! (besides the fact that we both sleep au naturel and are not always covered)! This, and many other 'differences' were solved by us buying a house together, and starting with a whole new set of rules from day 1 there (some of which we even managed to get the kids to stick to LOL!).
Bargain Bird - did I miss an update from Moggins? Had a quick scan through but couldn't see one...
Pen-Pin - I'm with Lamewolf - grab any chance to celebrate something good! Congratulations!
Lamewolf - hope the 'dog lady' visit goes well...
Bitsy - hope it is not Swine Flu. I was not really worried about it, but 2 people in my building at work have gone down with it, and I guess that being PG I am at a slightly higher risk. Bit concerning now that it seems 'healthy' people are dying from it - but wonder how mcuh of that is media hype? Trying not to stress over it, as TBH there's too many other things to worry about at the moment!
Hilstep - (((HUGS))) - it's a toughie - Glad your ex-inlaws were pleased with your support. Hope your ex-FIL is comfortable as possible.
I was really upset when my ex-FIL passed away and my ex made it clear that I was not welcome at the funeral. I didn't go as I didn't want to cause a scene, but we had been close and I would have liked to pay my respects.
Celyn - have a lovely break.
Sorry if I have forgotten anyone - have a (((HUG))) anyway (can't get the smilies to work at the mo'...). Brain is like a sieve at the moment - my best mate reckons when you are PG the baby gradually steals your brain-cells...if so then mine has started early and I'll be a complete dunce by the time it is born! (oh well, maybe he/she will be a genius as a result!).
well, I am waffling now - better get on a with a bit of w*rk before I go home -
Pork chops & salad for tea today - hope DH will do it for me! He has been doing quite a bit in the kitchen lately, which is a minor miracle in itself - bless him!
Tomorrow will be faggots which my mum phoned to say she has made, with her new Lidl electric mincer she got yesterday! She used to use her grandmother's manual cast-iron one (you know, the sort that clamps to the table-edge?) but her arthritis means she finds that a bit of a strain now. I don't like anyone else's faggots except my mum's - so looking forward to that!
Have a good evening everyone!

OMG - I am not supposed to eat liver am I? I don't like it on it's own, but Mum always puts plenty in the faggots...Help! Will they be OK for me do you think???The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

Thanks to all for your support. ExFIL is comfortable today, no more news yet.
I had my medical at the DWP. Very nice man. Was taken by the MS Welfare support lady. Had to use my wheelchair, as legs just wouldn't work today. (Probably all that travelling yesterday) He said he'd send his report in, but told me that there shouldn't be a problem with it.
Am so tired, I'm off for a nap.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Hi all, went into work today for normal time of 9am but felt lousy. Sent home at 10.30 and not done much all day except lay on the sofa.
DIL sister has swine flu and is confined to her bedroom for 4 days! I only hope that DIL does not get it as she is 7 months pregnant and apparently pregnant ladies are especially at risk from it. (my OH is a environmental health officer and has been assigned to swine flu monitoring). He is concerned about me as I have the early symptoms but personally I think it is just tired and a tummy bug!
DD3 off to her year 6 outing this evening - they are seeing Ice Age 3 at the cinema. I am going back to lay down again, who would have thought sitting here would be tiring!
Doh, dog has chewed my shoes up while I have been on here!!!!!
Hugs to all who need them, gentle hugs for anyone feeling fragile.
