Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 14th July! This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning all,
Where is everybody ? hope you are all having a lay in this morning. Was making dd's toast this morning and have cut my finger , good start to the day.
DD has had a bit of an upset last night, she has split up with her Boyf, bless her she was so upset, but I was very proud, he has started getting possesive, and telling her what to do, so she told him he did not own her :T and told him it might be best if they were just friends.
We managed to get some new bras yesterday £67 , we got two each though, so not too bad.
OH has got today off, and is going off to see a car with his dad, so i will have a quick tidy round, and then do some cooking, I nipped into lakeland yesterday and got some old fashioned individual enamel pie dishes, the white with the blue rim, the customer service is excellent in there, these items were new in, and had not been unpacked yet, but the young girl went out of her way to help me :T, think I will E-mail them today. I also got 4 pie dishes in the charity shop, so thought I would make up individual veggie meals for dd, then she could just take one from the freezer each day.
Pie and mash for tea, with veggies from the garden, think I will make cakes and flapjack today.
Ok I have gone on a bit this morning
Have good days all xx

Morning Redruby and all to follow.
Yes where is everybody????Its feeling a bit spooky on here
Have my DDad stay overnight and he and OH have just headed off to Coventry for a meeting at our clients headoffice, I was meant to go but meant getting other people looking after the kids and would have been a pain. As it is they both had slightly high temps last night so said they could have today off, both schools have got swine flu sufferers and as they are not actually doing any real work at the moment I thought it would be OK for one day. DD is watching DVD's in each lesson anyway.
So today will be getting on with bits and pieces, quite a lot of paperwork to do but the main thing will be ironing and will definately get that done. Still need to menu plan so no idea what is for tonight but think it will just be me and the kids so will be something easy, maybe macaroni cheese.
Didnt sleep that well last night as was on inflatable bed and woke up at 5.40 so off now to make a strong coffee.
Have a good one.x
Redruby - first read it that you bought a bra for £67 - though you mst be extremely posh or at least very buxom! :rotfl:0 -

Hi Guys!
Quiet here this morning
Well, OH & I met 21 years ago today, so I have got him a card which he hasnt opened yet as he's taking DD to school. We were 13:eek::eek::eek::eek:....DD is 14
Anyway, health isn't good and nurse has been this morning. I am focusing on our holiday as its so peaceful and tranquil there:D Getting everything together for our holiday very slowly. I am taking new pain meds with me, so hopefully they wont knock me out too much. I have to visit a hospital up there whilst away, but have an appointment already set up.
Essay half way there, so will finish that up later today.
DD & OH have tickets to see HP tomorrow night. I want to go but will be too busy for me. Will wait for it to die down and maybe go to an adult one where there are no kids:D
Collecting puppy a week Friday and looking forward to having a buddy at home.
WM and DW both on. OH has done the ironing and upstairs nearly finished.
Dinner tonight is Quiche, New Pots and Salad.
Twink-Hi Mum!
Hope everyone is well.

Morning everyone.
Have decided in future to try and get some jobs done BEFORE I switch on the 'puter as I never get anything done then LOL!!!! So that's the reason why I am later today!
Hung a load of washing out, another load to go out now WM has finished. Written up some receipes in my receipe book that I'd needed to do for ages and fed the kiddies so been busy this morning. Might go for a walk later with the kids if it's dry. We have a local allotment which has a path running through it so it's nice to go and have a nose at what they are all growing
One of the guests at the christening brought her BF along. He's not feeling well and she's text my H making a comment about how he's got swine flu! Not sure if she's making a joke or if she's for real. So cross your fingers that he's just got a cold or something.......
Not sure what's for tea, might do baked fish as we don't eat enough and I want to factor in at least one meal a week with it in.
Redruby - sorry your DD is upset but well done her for sticking up for herself. Start as she means to go on I say :T
Essex-girl - hope the coffee works for you. Failing that some matchsticks?!
halight - glad you slept better and had fun playing with your gorgeous twins
bargainbird - :rotfl: @ your DD2 being "blinged up"
Penny - how sweet you are your OH are childhood sweethearts. Sorry you're not feeling too good.
Have a good day all OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all.
It's a bright sunny day here on the Lancs. coast so far. Need to get the first of several loads of laundry going in a moment. Some general tidying around our flat today and just the routine building stuff.
Kitchen fitters for the other flat called at 7 this am and said they'd be here in 10 mins. I'm glad they are here this early as there are 2 viewings this afternoon for both flats. Will give me time to do any cleanup after they are finished.
Tea tonight will be omelets with veg and cheese and chips. Quick and easy, which seems to be the order of the day lately.
Gentle hugs to all in need and/or who want one. Have a great and grateful day.

Morning all, hope you are all well.
Off tomorrow lunchtime and very excitedLots to do today though and I still have to find somebody to bribe to feed my cells when I'm gone (they get annoyed if they aren't fed and start to mutate). OH had a pretty foul note from his solicitors underling yesterday, it was really rude and I was quite annoyed. I am feeling rather bullied to lie in order to keep the peace and I don't see why I should. He has made an appointment to see his solicitor the day we are back next week, it's good to see him so proactive. I am very tired and not sleeping.
Dinner tonight will be fridge suprise again as I am still trying to use up the perishables. I made carrot cake for work last night as I had lots of eggs and some cream cheese that wouldn't have lasted.
redruby - well done on your dd for being so sensible. A split is never easy, but a possesive OH is far worse. Hope your finger isn't too painful. I hate bra shopping but it's so nice to have new ones
pen-pin - awww, that's so cuteHope you and OH have a good day.
bargainbird - lol at your DD with the jewellery
have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
