While it's still warm, add some gelatine. Panna cotta is basically what you have there plus gelatine...

Oooh lemony ice cream - JenniO your comment has just transported me back through the years to a little village on the shores of Lake Lugano where they sold the most delicious lemon ice cream I have ever eaten! I can almost taste it now!! Mmmmm!

I hope this question hasn't already be answered. can I freeze twink's hobnob dough to use another day?

I have holiday let and used to leave bought biscuits for my guests arriving. Recently i decided to make the hobnobs and leave for the guests but it just means my family eat lots more every week. I usually leave two per person and the 8oz mix leaves lots of spares. I could use 4oz of the mix but wondered if anyone had tried freezing the dough? Thank you.

orrr could i save up my empty marg tubs dollop some cake mix in, freeze with lid on

Yes, you can do this. I'm not very experienced in using a microwave, so I just take out of freezer the night before and leave to defrost until the following night to use then, so not sure about defrosting in the microwave.

I've frozen frangipani mix before, which turned out just fine. You can freeze biscuit dough as well, just freeze in a ball to roll out, or a sausage shape to make slices, whatever the receipe calls for.

I wouldn't freeze in the paper cases, its just the practical bit of wrapping the cases that I can't imagine.

I freeze in food bags myself, much quicker than washing out marg tubs, I don't think your lazy if you do that :D :T

Shortcrust pastry freezes great as well. In fact I can't think of anything that dosn't along those lines.

I don't think that this will work as once the wet ingredients are added to the dry ingredients the raising agents will be activated. Once frozen they will no longer be active when you come to bake them and need them to make the muffins rise. I'm happy to be proved wrong though.....please come back and let us know how you get on. :)

I'll add this to the quick questions on baking thread later.

i would bake them and freeze half when cooked. like pink-winged said above you will probably have trouble with the raising agent. also you would need to check htat your marg tubs are microwave save

I agree re the muffins - when the wet ingredients hit the baking powder it activates it and needs to be cooked before it stops working.

Cake mix should be OK I think
