Tried searching for this but couldn't find the answer...can you put fresh blueberries in 'normal' cake mixture (SR flour, caster sugar, stork, eggs)?
I got a load reduced but don't have enough milk or proper butter to make standard blueberry muffin mix!
Thanks
You can:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Thanks, just got them out, don't think I have any almonds anyway.
They have exploded into juicy purple loveliness!
Taste very nice, next time I'll remember to add vanilla extract too though...:o0 -
Hi OS moneysavers
Ok, I was wondering if you can lend me some inspiration. Wages don't go in until Monday and there's hardly anything in the cupboards. I've got dinnerss taken care of with a roast chicken and veg, and some left-over roast beef and stock that were frozen last month, plus some veg, to make stews for lunches.
But I wanted to make something sweet that can be used for snacks when the dreaded 'munchies' strike
I have the following in my cupboard:
Porridge Oats (300g)
Clear Honey (1 jar)
SR & P Flour (only 1/2 bag of each!)
Demerera Sugar
Light Brown Sugar
Sultanas
Butter
Vanilla Flavouring
And that's it...
I will be making a small batch of scones. What else would/could you make with what's left over? Or am I expecting miracles?
(The only thing I could think of was Flapjack, but I don't have any golden syrup and dunno if it'd taste right using the honey?)"Your life is what your thoughts make it"

Oooh those honey/sultana flapjacks sound just the thing, thank you! I don't know why, but I just thought the honey wouldn't 'work', I've only ever done 'em with syrup before... Yum, off to the kitchen toddles I :T"Your life is what your thoughts make it"

Fruity cupcakes (basic fairy cake recipe), maybe buy a small bar of choc and melt that on top.0
