Need to make a cake and only have plain four and no baking powder. Can I do without the baking powder and just add another egg? Or does anyone have any cake recipes using plain flour?

I'd always use SR flour in a fatless sponge

I have used plain flour in a fatless sponge before and it was fine.
I have barcarbonate of soda and plenty of eggs.
Think I might try adding less margarine and an extra egg and see what happens?!0 -

Do you have cocoa powder? My go to chocolate cake recipe uses bicarb instead of baking powder and is delicious. :drool:
