            Tried that and it tasted rubbish, really stodgy. Will go back to my tried and tested sponge cake recipe I think.

 Pineapple and dessicated coconut ( if you have any) would go nice too as a pina colada
 cake, and the pineapple juice would have loosened it slightly. I liked the sound of the cherry and almond though.
