Yes, we have 22 items listed, 6 with watchers and one with a bid! Now you mention it I have a (non-working) vintage sewing machine upstairs. I wonder.....
Chev, it's not because he is bothered about age, it's because he's bothered about forms! He hates filling in forms so hides them away under piles of paper and forgets they exist. I'm convinced this benefits delay is because he doesn't bother filling in the forms or attending appointments.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
that is really touch seax. I still can't see how he can't see that your finances are so dire that any money is welcome. I know we have been over this ground. but perhpas you have to just sit him down with the forms and just do them with him. no matter what he carps on about. then you can post them.....

Would it not be easier for you to fill in the forms for him and get him to sign them? I do that with DHs forms as he hates forms0

Yes I should take control of all his paperwork. I have put off doing that as he hates it and it seems rather patronising. But as we have lost probably hundreds of pounds through him failing to do what's needed, I will get more involved.
On other news, I have agreed to stay at my job full-time till at least the end of the year. I felt really down when I had agreed, as I had been hoping to leave in June, but I accept I'm lucky to have a job and there are good sides to it as well as stresses. My boss mentioned a possible pay rise in the summer, though that is dependent on fundraising. They offered several other inducements to encourage me to stay, including taking away some of my work, training, more money for consultants, and a trip to the States. So on balance I'm glad. It will all help me to get a job I like more afterwards.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
This is all good. Obviously they like what you are doing for them, if they are going to such lengths to persuade you to stay. Be heartened by that. And just think of the regular salary ..."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
The car is on Ebay. We decided to get the MOT done (it cost the same as the pre-MOT check anyway) so have listed it with all the faults. It's on at starting price £199 and already has four watchers so I hope it will go. My kind mum has said I can borrow her car any time, she has added me to the insurance and as they only live a couple of miles away it should be very easy to carshare with her. Not that I plan to borrow it often - we have bikes and a good train service here so a car is not essential at all.
The 21 ebay auctions I did last week are going to start closing imminently. Currently nine have bids, all quite low, but there are watchers on many of them so I hope we could get a few quid.
OH's benefits paperwork has all been sent off so I dearly hope that with that income, and the loss of the car insurance and other car costs, we should be just about solvent.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
That's good that its on ebay and people are watching it already! Also good luck with your items your selling here's hoping that the bids just keep increasing.
