Thanks for the link! Mind you, you're a professional writer, and Hypno's the one who kept getting crowns on dooyoo.... I think my writing might be a little dry - I'll have to imagine it as an email to my American cousin, who's also a writer, she thinks I've missed my vocation - its always a kind of stream of consciousness thing when I write to her.

Hope you're doing well, Seax - what's your situation with the salaried job right now? And how did the Canadian High Commission thing go?

You don't need to be a professional writer! The reviews are limited in length anyway, you really don't have to write much. Give it a go! http://www.thomsonlocal.com/

  • Mixed bag of news then Seaxwyn. Hope you get OH sorted soon..i can always send Mr.B for a bit of company if you want...they can sit in a room together in purgatory.

Sorry about the car, always horrible when anything happens like that.

Great news on the Thomson Local front..excellent spot.

The Canadian High Commission thing was great fun - and I got an outfit from a charity shop for £8!

Re the salaried job, I know they want me to stay, and have told them I would like to, but they have to get the approval of the Board to make any new appointments, not to mention raise the money. This could take some time, so I just have to be patient. But I'm sending positive vibes out to the universe as it would be great to get a permanent contract.

Ooh fingers crossed that the board allows you to stay on - that would be a bit of pressure alleviated for a while.

As I expected, I have been offered a job at the place where I'm working - a one year contract from January at 30k. I will think it over over the weekend but am inclined to accept. I probably could find higher paid work, but it's not guaranteed, and the place I'm working is great in lots of ways - easy commute, pleasant working atmosphere, family friendly boss, not stressful - all important to me.

30k would not be enough to cover our outgoings and pay off debts, but it would be a good start.

OH is still not working, apart from occasional driving. He has still not registered for Jobseekers nor even been to the job centre. Progress so far consists of printing off an application form for Sainsburys. No decision from the insurance company on whether they are going to write off our car, meanwhile we are still driving it!

Christmas is looming. I would like to get half decent presents for the children. I also need some new trainers for my new running obsession. I have torn my hamstring and my ill-fitting old trainers may have been a factor. I need to put in as many hours as I can on my freelance work before it ends in early December.
