Next VIP invitations released

Hi All, i have never got an invitation even though i have had a Next account for over 7 years. I decided that enough was enough and was going to find out why. I called the Customer Services and after a very very long heated discussion with them at first they advised it "was random" but after insisting that i have never had an invitation and i can't be that unlucky they admitted that there was a criteria!! This is some of it:

- You have to have a least £200.00 left to spend ( credit )
- You have to have bought stuff in the last TWO next sales ( on your account )
- Within these sales you have had to of spent a "certain" amount of money
- You cannot have "missed" a payment in the last 12 months

They advised that there was more but wouldn't tell me anymore. They did explain that if you do pass all the above you may still not get a VIP invitation!

I met all the criteria and would spent £600 in sales (I ordered for 2 sisters to) and didnt get a invite for 2 years.

However, I have spent a small fortune with them between sales, so maybe ordering outside of the sales is another? I also ordered something in the past 3 months leading up to the sale and got an invite, maybe coincidence? But I never got an invite before and never bought anything in the months just before the sale

Thanks, but I tick EVERY box but NEVER get a VIP slot.
Well, I got one once for the rubbish "mid-season 1 day sale". :rolleyes:
I did use it as I thought I'd then get one for the "proper" sale.

It is NOT random as my friends all get them and ALWAYS get them.

Someone told me if you clear your balance every month you are less likely to get one as they make less money from you.
No idea if that is true or not.

Anyway, I have emailed them to complain that their VIP slots are anything but random.
Seriously considering getting rid of my account now seeing as I have to pay for the directories but never get a VIP slot.

no such thing anymore but years ago you could change the last 3 catalogue numbers to a specific code to get sale prices

I agree Clutterfree, i have told them that when my balance is clear i will be cancelling my Next account as there is no incentive to keep it. I would be better off putting my purchases on my credit card which has a lower APR (or whatever it is). Why pay for the directories when you can look online now!

Thanks, I have a slot and do fit all criteria but then I haven't always had a slot (think I have had one for the last 2 sales but missed the sale before that).

You can request not to get the Directories, I have done this. It just means I end up more paper to recycle so best not to have it!
