Morning all,
Busy weekend for me, but now back to the land of the living hopefully (I'm on my second coffee, but I have also had half a litre of diet coke, so I'm almost awake).
I finished my marking!! Wooh hoo! I'm so happy - and I enjoyed the ritulistic shredding of the mark scheme so much this year
We went to a wedding on saturday (just the reception) and it was really nice.
Had formal note from the journal about my paper - all corrections accepted so good to go
My boss is away this week and I'm off later in the week too. He's so lovely - he offered to take me down to the garage to collect my bike and drive back with me because I'm a bit nervous (it's an awful long way back from the garage on a 125 cc motorcycle!). It could be fun, he's got a great bike and I've never ridden pillion on anything other than a tank sized tourer before
We have a new guy in the lab, also a bike personHe will fit in well
OH is still in guilt mode - at least the flat is tidy, so that's some consolationLooking forward to wednesday - it's going to be busy, but I'm already very excited about the concert
I have to phone DHL and see if I can wrestle my parcel off them - it's just some dress making fabric, but they didn't seem to understand that I will get it quicker if they take it to the depot as there isn't a snowball's chance in hell I'll be in when they try to deliver it. *sigh*
Frigde suprise for tea as I'm trying to use up the perishables before we go away. I think there are some sausages in there
Bitsy - she's so cute!
Essex-girl - hope you feel better as the day goes on ((hug))
julietiff - it's not uncommon with paint for it to be different to the swatch on the tin - I used to work for the lab side of ICI (who make Dulux) and each batch can be very slightly different - the human eye is so good at picking up subtle changes in colour. If you know your going to need more than one tin, mixing them all together first so it's uniform can help. It's more apparent with tinted whites, but you'll find it will lighten as it driesHope you like the colour
Aussie - good news about your tax refund
Halight - glad it went well yesterday edited to add: your pics are so cute!
Right - must go and feed the cellshave a good day everyone, cel x

Just popped on quickly with a cuppa as have to be at doctors soon....then DS has Sports Day at 11...school only decided this at 9 this morning....it has rained off 3 times in last couple of weeks and this is the only chance.....DS also has Speech Therapy coming to see him at 11 at school so it overlaps with sports day so I am going in at 11 to make sure he doesnt go off on one and see him do some races;)
Bitsy your daughter is beautiful! and the cake is amazing....I am in awe of people who can do that...I want to be able to but not very arty and can only manage various colours of bog standard icing:o So well done you! You should be proud:T0 -
Morning all!
Bitsy, what lovely pics, yr dd looks so angelic and the cake is fantastic! xx
Halight - glad that the medical finally happened, hope that you get the desired outcome from it. Love the pics of the twins too, how cute xx
Sometimes you just know you've spoken too soon, don't you! After my rave about oh yesterday we managed to finish last night with him stomping off into the darkness! He was in a strop about my ex staying here, to be honest I can see his point, but if he didn't stay here then I'm worried that the kids wouldn't see him at all, a rock and a hard place jump to mind! He was also sniffy about the kids leaving their stuff in my room, I've always let them use my room but for him it's an invasion of privacy! Ah well, guess we'll work it out, relationships are tricky when ex's and kids are involved.
Anyhoo meant that I didn't have the best night's sleep, so have come back to bed with the laptop so that I can have a moan on here to all of you! Just realised that I haven't had a cuppa yet, I must be stressed lol! Will remedy that in a sec!
Today will be general swishing and swiping as I go, after my mini blitz yesterday it isn't too bad, washing needs to go on, so will throw that in when I go to make my tea. Never got around to tray bakes yesterday so will be doing those today, and poss some hobnobs if I get organised. Dinner will be something involving burgers, as bought some of the £1 for 4 sundried tom ones from Asda, kids really liked them and they seem pretty meaty last time, will do some summery veg and wedges to go with them. Pud will be fruit from Aldi should I actually manage to get there today - oh was gonna pick some up on his way back from work, but due to our current dispute he will be returning to his flat!
Kids lunches were cheese sarnies, apple, grapes, choc biscuit. My lunch will be egg sarnies, off to see a friend for lunch and we always have egg sarnies made with lovely fresh eggs from her chooks. Will also be having cuddles with her new babe, well quite new, she's four months old now and absolutely scrummy!
Sure I should be getting more stuff done, as this is the kids last week at school, so things will be going out the window a bit soon! Currently I'm trying to fit in watching school plays and sports days and swimming galas and still making it to work like most parents - trouble is with four kids and only one of me it seems to involve a lot of dashing from one to another and precision timing lol!
Hope everyone has a good day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Well my mum helped a great deal so due credit should go to her too. Making it was not without it's stresses. We always make the Xmas cake together which we normally have a good giggle over. However when it's for something like a christening the perfectionism in my mum comes to the fore and I am normally telling her off saying it looks fineI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

At work (as per usual ). The weekend ran away with me again and I can't believe it's Monday already  The house is a wreck, the ironing pile is massive (and so is the wash pile) - there just never seems to be enough hours in the day (moan moan winge winge :rotfl:)
Dinner tonight will be thai chicken noodles, must remember to make packed lunches tonight - makes the morning that bit more bearable
Jobs when I get home from work:- Clean bathroom
- Iron mahoosive pile of clothes
- Clean kitchen windows
Halight - the twins are sooo cute

Have a great day everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Hi, a busy day so far. DS1 sent off to school with a packed lunch, cookery & Gardening stuff and everything he needs for a school trip. My first load of washing is on the line and the second is going around in the machine. I'm doing the flylady thread so have cleaned the cooker (although the grill pan is still soaking) washed up the table mats etc.
We're just off to get some bits and bobs at MrT. I need to go to my local quilt store this afternoon to get some bits for an embellished art quilt I'm making. I also need to have a look at digital cameras as DS tripped whilst carrying mine and its now bust.
Dinner tonight is left over beef (probably as a pie), I also need to empty the bins, sort the recycling and the brown bin ready for tomorrow morning.
Hugs to all that need them!0 -
