Valli and fedup - good luck with your interviews
Have to phone the estate agents for the kids. They put an offer on a flat the other day and the EA seems to be messing them about. It's not clear if they've actually put the offer forward to the vendors. There also is, allegedly, a bidding war and they are saying that the other people are more likely to get it because they are taking out a mortgage through the EA where as DS and DiL aren't, but they do have a firm mortgage offer in principle.
I shall have to look up EA rules first I think!
also what's supposed to be in a HIP because the EA still hasn't given an answer to how much is left on the lease and what the ground rent is. That, surely should be part of a hip?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hopefully Carlsbergal is bored at work again... although after yesterday's success she's probably still floating
Overslept this morning - I have a meeting at the school in 25 minutes so need to get dressed and walk up there as soon as I've finished my breakfast. I'll go into the office some time after that...0 -
Hello darlings....... :hello:
I haven't read the thread for 2 days. So my apologies if I've missed something really important. If anyone has time, could you give me a synopsis of the last 2 days?
I'm sooooooo tired. We're getting the furniture delivered tomorrow. ( a month early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    ) So the decorating has had to be done. Last night saw us in Ike@ buying the units. (bickering all the way round becasue we're so tired  )
The glossing needs another coat, the edges need smartening up, and the units need building. I don't think the light fitting we've bought is going to work in here(something else to do!) I'm not back from work until 7.30pm, so it's going to be another long night. *yawn*
On the upside, the colours look great. I think the room is going to look fantastic when it's finished. It already looks more cohesive .... I think that's the right word. (brain's not working yet) It had become too bitty. You know how it happens, you buy things for specific reasons, and before you know it, your home is mismatched, and full of stuff that you no longer need.
Like the coffee table I bought because it was the perfect size for changing nappies, and I could store my nappy box underneath it. Or the huge unit with doors, which I bought to stop DD3 pressing buttons on the dvd/video etc
Anyway I'm shattered, and the most flying I've done is washing out paintbrushes and rollers.Right best get in the shower.
Valli I gather you're requiring luck??? ~~~~~~~sending positive vibes for you.

Thank you for more of your lovely welcomes - including a thoughtful and encouraging PM from Toots which was much appreciated
All of you are an inspiration, studying while having young children. Funnily enough, I have been toying with the idea for ages, finding reasons to put it off, then realised I could have had a degree complete by now if I had done it when I first considered it seriously! At the weekend I was just talking to DH about taking it up a part time degree at a nearby uni and after all your stories about it I feel rather encouraged :T I had planned to apply now, although late obviously for September unless there are any spaces left on the course, but thought I might as well rather than putting it off yet again. If no spaces then I can always try again next year
Did rather badly yesterday but, hey t'was my first attempt! (well at Flylady lists, not at doing housework, obviously :rotfl:)
