Hi everyone
Just wanted to agree completely with what soappie said............my immune system is 'failing' dismally at the moment......add to this the cancer & I am open to all infections..........my oncologist says I should have the 'SW' vaccine but it's not available until next month........which face it could be too late...........pretty sure toots will agree.
Hugs to all

I wasn't going to start next week's cleaning yet but I was really bored here on my own. I'll be OK when I get into the routine of it but it feels weird the first day. I know a lot of you are always on your own so I realise I'm being a wimp.
Anyway, I've done the kitchen/diner complete ready for that day when it comes and I've damp wiped the computer desk and the living room and vacuumed right through downstairs.
My washing had about two hours out on the line so I've got it in now, not completely dry but the sun has gone from the back garden so I'm playing safe and it's finishing off in here. I reckon it will be dry by the time I go to bed.
Going to watch a bit of television now, might be back later.0 -
Re Swine Flu - I've copied advice from work into an earlier post, but just to reiterate:
IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE SWINE FLU:
Stay at home (self-isolate) and keep away from work.
This is a matter of common courtesy whenever you are ill with an infectious or contagious ailment, but is particularly important with pandemic flu as the population at large have not built up immunity. It's not only at work that you risk spreading it, but also on public transport and anywhere else you may meet people.
If you have a family member with SF and are unable to isolate them within the house, you should also contact work and ask their advice. They may well not want you in.
If you have homeworking facilities, this is obviously an easier decision to make, but you have to consider your own recovery (quicker if you rest), your family, friends, colleagues and the rest of the population...
I've put another load of laundry on, refilled all my cleaning stuff and done some washing up.
I haven't managed to clear the utility room, or hoover upstairs... so I'm considering this weekend's flying as getting ahead for next week0 -
Hello my lovlies - have done sweet FA agin today apart from:
s/s kitchen
bleach
food shopping
dinner in slow cooker
Got ordered to go to DD1's parents today. Nowt to do with us or DD1, was all about boyfriend. At the end of the day it's not my problem that he can be an !!!! to them, but they pamper to his every whim - THEN MOAN ABOUT IT!! I've known his parents over 20 years, they can be as mad as hatters, but it's a familly problem not a girlfriend/boyfriend problem. Over an hour wasted there, though told them a few things that might make them sit up and listen.

I really agree with the advice given by greenbee and soappie et al about staying home if you are ill. But just thought I would throw this in...
some employers, and sometimes those who we would think should be most enlightened, have a Gordon-Gecko style attitude to sickness, ie lunch is for wimps and so is sick leave. So I am absolutely in tune with the view that one should not go in when potentially infectious, but I do sympathise with those in the kind of bonkers environment where one feels that to take sick leave is to jeopardise one's employment/promotion prospects.
I have to fess up and say that I have hauled myself in when ill with something potentially contagious, because I was working in that kind of environment, and I am ashamed that I didn't consider my potentially immune-supressed colleagues more. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Well children were meant to be back at about 7 but DH brought them home at 5
Had the girlfriend in the car and instead of driving by the house he reversed down the road. Already told him that I don't plan on poking her eyes out. I am better of without him . " I said I may be your ex but I don't plan on hitting her." She is welcome to him!!
Anyway hven't got as much done as I plan. Always find I am less productive when they aren't here.
Had a nice lunch with my sister and my niece and have given DS and DD a BIG cuddle
God Bless you. Get really matey with her and giggle a lot when he's out of earshot, that will really wee on his fireworks! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Just to add to the info re Swine Flu, I read this:
http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/health/article-1200533/As-swine-flu-deaths-begin-rise-heres-high-risk-guide.html
today which talks about what to look for in high-risk groups. Both my kids are asthmatic & DS is a bit slack when it comes to using his preventor inhaler, so I think a stern word in his direction is necessary!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend,
Thanks, Cally. DD1 is asthmatic and DD2 is only 23 months so its a bit scarey!
eta sorry. multiple posting, haven't worked out multi-quote yet. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I am a drag yourself into work unless a limb is hangin off kind of person but was very aware that I have some collegues in very poor health in my office and do not want me to be the one who makes them worse (1 with TB, another on drugs for TB, an elderly lady who takes drugs which suppress her immune system and another lady who is diabetic) so staying off for one day is the best option all round.gratefulforhelp wrote: »Thanks, Cally. I understand your concern about your DD2. My son is 2.5 and he was very sick for a few days with SF. Thankfully the worst of it (40.1 C temp) only lasted for 4 days but all in he had symptoms for a week and even now isnt eating and drinking like normal.
As for the multi quote thing - I have no idea either :rolleyes:Emma
