anyway I now have one completely homemade - erm - seasonal gift ready.
I had a gift of jams (3 jars) in a dinky chromed rack so being frugal I had saved both the jars and the rack and each jar is now filled with a homemade preserve. I have one jar of marmalade (and I made 3 batches and ma and pa have eaten it ALL), one of rhubarb and ginger jam and the last jar is blackcurrant jam (which smells fantastic though I say so myself) so that will be a special homemade gift for ma and pa for xmas (with a request, naturally, for the rack and jars to be returned to me...)

Pigpen is the goddess of the throwing of fluffy mules and other missiles so I wouldn't dare do that myself . I shall just say for heck's sake, we haven't had the autumn equinox nor bonfire night yet. Perlease! I feel such planning, so far in advance is tempting fate..

Mind you i still have some of LAST years blackcurrant jam -I don't know why I make it as I (hardly) dare eat much but it's so-o-o-o satisfying. (Seeing all those jars lined up in the cupboard. I feel like a PROPER housewife!)

Little ones bag is packed, just need to chuck some stuff in my own then im sorted, but boarding passes and airport parking is all printed along and in my bag along with passports etc so good to go.

Must do the dishes before bed but im busy at the minute....talking to you.

Valli the waiting is horrible, but hang in there.....

Fedup - Im glad something positive has come from yours as I know you didnt really want it, but it must be a confidence boost nonetheless!

Im really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing Toots, my mum is coming too!!


ETA - Oh i forgot to say - SG thanks for the offer but im watching some PCs on Ebay which are closer to home. That said, having seen the price of the wardrobe, I may not be buying a PC!

Yes Rach but not until September, back to where I lived originally when I came to Durham.

Bloomin' BT!! I've got the phone line sorted but we found the actual line goes in upstairs......they want £122.30 plus socket charges to put it in downstairs....no chance! Think we'll be seeing if DP can do that job himself.

Got my packing list sorted for holidays, have now packed throw overs, bed linen and a few other things. TD on and WM.....dehumidifier on full trying to get stuff dry. Think I might grab a shower before doing everything else or I'll end up staying up too late again.

Soappie don't worry I had no idea either, I don't use Next online/catalogue so wouldn't have known.

I've made a small starting off list of what needs doing in the new house. There are some things we need doing before we can move in like carpets, stripping woodchip urgh, painting etc, then some we want doing before we move in......like DP wants new skirting boards for the living room (?) but he can source those cheaply. Little things like the pantry door lock is awful so I would like something nice for that but has to have an external catch will wait until after we move but will be the things that will make me like the house more, because we can make it our own that bit more.

I'm actually quite looking forward to it, even if it's got me stressed to bits!
