Sounds like a good decision Lil_me - yes you were in a mad panic when you thought your LL was going to return AND the cost saving will be brilliant. So much more secure and hopefully jobs which will need doing will get done.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I have just deleted a rather detailed post (about me) but it's in a more anonymous place now...just telling you where I am mentally and TBH it's not good...I am making plans for a future I might not yet have! Just waiting to see if the door will be opened for me so I need a massive *kick* to keep me focussed on where I AM

You're doing very well Hermoine.fedupandskint wrote: »
Didn't get the job but only just missed out due to the splitting hairs of competancy! Don't mind as it has given me a massive confidence boost that I didn't missout by much at all and it went better than I thought!
Sorry you didn't get the job fedup but well done on the positive thinking there. It means you know you CAN get one in the future xxxgratefulforhelp wrote: »Soappie what can I cook thats fish based and healthy for my parents on Monday? And that kids might eat too? Any ideas?

Gratfh - when I was working in London and staying in Islington in the week, I amazed the yuppie Upper (or should that be Supper) Street lot with my cheap and cheerful but sooo up market fish'n chips. Essentially, it's home made potato wedges with lashing of fresh ground pepper and sea salt with a Tesco's cod in batter from the frozen cabinet coupled with a salad of leaves, spring onion and cherry tomatoes. And mayonnaise on the side They'd never tasted anything like it and all fell in love with it :rotfl::rotfl: They never realised how cheap it was to do!
But seriously, perhaps boiled new potatoes, a salad with some spring and red onion in it and some salmon steaks cooked gently in the oven wrapped in foil with a bit of wine and some celery? You could do fish fingers for the kids. Or a dish I've done before which is quite time intensive is salmon coulib...bolibb.bbibll. heck, it's here:

It's really lovely and works well with salad - you don't need pots with it.
I have a multitude of other ideas if you can give me a bit more info on what's liked and what's not...
Lil-me - Carlsberggal is right - you've made the right decision about the house. I feel it in my water...
Dusty - I'm still confused about this VIP thing at 6pm. Just WHAT are you talking about pretty please?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

*sneaks in*
Hello all
I've been awol again this week....but have been flying a bit (actually DH has!). DH hoovered through and washed the floors when I was out the other night, and he dusted and changed the bed - all without me asking!! I'd had a bad headache/migraine all day and wasn't feeling great, had to help with gb as they were relying on me and was so happy to come back and find he'd cleaned!
I'll try and catch up on what's been going on but probably not by reading right through!
toots - please can you make space in your pm box?
everyone who pm'd me about the walking stuff - i'll respond tomorrow, promise!
lil_me do i understand you're moving!
I've missed so much!!
My other news is that job is going well, i'm really stuck in - getting things rolling. Am enjoying it. DH has got a payrise of about 5% which is nice, coupled with my rise in the new job it helps get nearer to our plans to move away. DH also passed all his exams - all with over 70%, so we're having champagne later to celebrate.
I'll need to fly in the kitchen and bathroom this weekend, everwhere else has been done. I'll be up for a HHC or two and here's my extras:
collect parcel from sorting office
register for eyecare vouchers etc
book dental appointment
small shop
order DH birthday present
book dh birthday tourMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Valli - I'll hug you rather than kick you. We all have unsettled times of year, maybe yours in now being a teacher. Hope you find your way soon hun xThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Valli, the waiting is truly awful isn't it. Just write your ideas and hopes and plans down on a piece of paper, pop it in an envelope then stick it in a drawer until next week and focus on the now. You can do the serious planning another time xxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
