My hubby has complained to E-bay before after an item was listed as perfect but was clearly damaged when he received it.It was obviously damaged before it was sold and the seller didn't want to have any thing to do with it.E-bay didn't want anything to do with it either. They don't care once they have got their cut from the seller. At the time (don't know what it is now) all they would get back for him was half of the final bid....no p+p....after about three months of e-mails and letters sent back and forth hubby gave up as it was obvious he wasn't going to get anything back. IMHO when you need help E-bay fall into the scammers category too.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

I thought I bought a PS2, but after I paid (the seller requires instant payment), I discovered that this is just for a link... I paid by PayPal, is there any chance that I can get my money back? The seller said no refund will be given!! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Check ebay's listing policies as I believe you are not allowed to sell links. Then do a chargeback via paypal.
You should get the full amount back. File an online complaint with Trading Standards also.
Quite often sellers state that they will not give a refund under any circumstances- this is against consumer law and any auctions which state this are worth avoiding.0 -
Thanks very much for everyone here trying to help!!

I got an email from PayPal today saying that the seller responded that he has issued a refund. I just checked my PayPal account but I can't see any refund.... here is the eamil from PayPal regarding my complaint:

Refund Date: 23 Dec. 2004

It says the seller refunded the money on the 23rd, it has been a few days but I can't see any refund on my PayPal account. How long does it take for the refund to reach PayPal account? I thought it's instant.....plus I never had any email from PayPal notifying me a refund has been issued to my account....
Is the seller playing some more tricks ???
Thanks in advance for any kind advice!!!

Don't forget that the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th were not banking days.
I would suggest being a little more patient.0 -
I thought a refund from paypal account to paypal account was instant just as the payment is? The last time i sent a refund to a buyer she acknowledged it immediately.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that you get an email informing you of a refund as soon as it was processed too.0 -
any update - did you actually receive a refund?0
-
No, no refund in my PayPal account, although the seller claimed he has given the refund on 23 Dec....
Just checked my PayPal complaint status, it says:
"If your complaint has been resolved, you may cancel it by clicking below. If you choose not to cancel your complaint, we will resume our investigation in five days (on 3 Jan. 2005). "
I reported this seller to Ebay as soon as I realised that he was selling a link. I am surprised that he is still selling links - perhaps I should leave him a bad feedback to warn other buyers since Ebay isn't doing anything.....0 -
hi
Do leave the guy very bad neg feedback, this is the only thing ppl on ebay do refer to. Everyone will be able to read it and hence not fall into your trap
this link issue is all over the place, many ppl are using it and if it might also deter others if you take action0 -
yes but then he will leave you negative feedback if you do! i have a buyer at the minute and I am just waiting until the 90 day limit is nearly up and I will leave him negative feedback! lol!0
