The problem is most of the people saying it will break down have either
A) owned an Alfa back in the 80's when they were a bit ropey orJump on the bandwagon despite having never driven one, owned one or ever been in one!
My advice is test drive one and if you like it, buy it! If you look after it then it will be reliable.
Also, you can't argue with facts!
