It's all very well trusting in the Lord Bookie...but trust in yourself, friends and family too (and DFW-ers!) to get you through this-it's not the end of something,it's the start of something!!!

Took my BF for Radiotherapy sesh on thursday-she's been carp ever since. Does anyone know if constant D and V is a reaction to Radiotherapy? Have looked on the 'net but doesn't apprear to be a known symptom. They've given her anti-sickness meds, but she can't keep them down...have her eldest here today so he doesn't have to see her in a state. DH has taken him and DS to a vintage vehicle rally. Then we have the village playgroups 40th anniversary pcnic this afternoon....weathers garbage but there you go, I have to attend as I'm an ex-chairman....

I've done the chocolate cake with beetroot. It was 'ok', probably needed something else added to it, black treacle perhaps but it wasn't horrendous.

this is the angle I'm taking with my ex.

He's bearing up a lot better than I thought he would do, but in helping him over the last few weeks to have a battle plan in place - financially and work wise, I think (hope perhaps) it's stopped him going into a complete blind panic and in turn become depressed.

It's a big shock to the system for anyone to be starting again - let alone after so many years and there will be lots of feelings of fear etc to go through but I try to think without the rose tinted glasses on and think about the carp in the past, that without having his hand turned and having to leave - would he ever have left? I know I would never have left my old job unless Cruella appeared and perhaps there is good that can be taken from that because I was definitely in a rut.

There were aspects of the school he hated, but because he was never 'made' to leave, he has never had the opportunity to change his mind set - because it's a bloody big world out there and there are so many choices to consider now even if they come with some hard work and a few scary moments along the way.

Sorry to hear about your friend SRM.
When my uncle had radiotherapy on the lumps in his back/spine, he didn't have D and V.
Has she had a mask done? He wasn't keen on wearing that and it took longer to position him for treatment than the treatment took.
He had problems with his platelet count and was kept in hosp.

Hope she is feeling better soon.

Bookie, I think BB's said it all really. It's the start of something, not the end. Just get through today, then go on holiday and forget about it then you can come back relaxed and raring to go again.

I'm a muppet, just went to get my tablets and left my prescription at home. I've got to go out again later though so I can get them then.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
