Thanks BB. I am trying to be positive but the mortgage/loan/debts thing just makes me feel sick all the time.
I need a job as of yesterday really.:rotfl:0 -
It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

The thing I found the most help bookie was to just keep posting here and being as involved as I could. It really helped that I knew I was part of a supportive community.
My ex lost his job yesterday (17 years as a teacher - head of department, same school, same subject, private school, bit pigeon holed now) and I've been helping him to think about budgeting and also a CV and how to get it out there. I've helped him as a friend but I also thought - what would I have done without everyone on here for support? And he has none of that support or expertise as he doesn't have internet access and isn't the kind of person to get involved with a forum etc so I think the least I can do is pass on what I've learnt to him as a kind of 'DFW out in the field' kind of way.

Spud - this sounds a quick, good recipe

I share an office with someone who grows all her own vegetables and she makes cakes and jam. She brought me in a jar of blackcurrant jam last week - it is lush. It is quite loose set and is really gorgeous - not much left already!!!
I've just made a huge carrot cake this morning - I'm a bit awash with carrots at the moment as I've been doing that abel and cole offer and can't use them up quick enough! Going to make some lemon butter icing for it later, hope it is nice, never made carrot cake before and I fiddled with the recipe with adding a spoon of black treacle to make it richer.
