other infections in children might get missed in this furore over swine flu and associated telephone diagnosis and treatment by officially appointed quacktitioners who diagnose / treat over the phone without seeing patients in person. see some examples a lot of things can present with similar symptoms so diagnosing things over the phone / internet and associated prescriptions over the post etc isnt exactly the finest piece of treatment being dished out (i gather this is what seems to be happening in some cases at aleast from my readings / 'pub gossip' among doctors). i repeat 'pub gossip' and dont place much credence to info found on internet and forums including what i say.:oabout vaccine development see this link . also please note that if indeed the vaccine was so efficacious and life saving and economy saving, dont you think that every country would use emergency powers to restrict access to vaccines to their own country first before allowing exports to other countries. if countries can limit exports of arms to other countries then what prevents the same countries from retricting exports of vaccines to other countries and giving preference to their country first. so use this pinch of salt before buying into any story that vaccines will be earmarked for the uk first because they have a 'contract' to get it first. in any contract a force majeure clause will be written into and nothing will prevent any govt worth its salt into enforcing that clause in national interest and prevent vaccine producing companies from delivering it based on their contractual obligations. atleast thats my personal impression on this issue. i gather that vaccines 'destined' for the uk are manufactured abroad. oh last but not the least they arent exactly tested according to the usual standards and govt has given an exemption to the companies selling / manufacturing it from compensation claims incase they arise later or so i gather.the following might interest pregnant people
http://www.ranzcog.edu.au/connexion/pdfs/17_July_2009_Swine_Flu_and_Pregnancy_Statement.pdfsince now is the we all love tamiflu times have a look at the link.also 'doctors pub gossip' on vaccine prioritisation see link from a doctors blog that i read
:rotfl::rotfl:The Trust board is worried about how the 'flu might affect them. One of the questions they have been asking is whether or not the current 'flu vaccine will give any protection against swine 'flu. Nobody actually knows the answer to this question. The hospital concerned has 18 doses of the vaccine left. It expires soon so it has to be used. Who should get it? That is the dilemma. If you were to ask Dr Grumble he would say the infectious diseases staff should get it. Or maybe the intensive care staff. Or perhaps they could do the decent thing and offer it to local GPs who are the ones that have to go into people's homes and take the swabs. Any of these would be a reasonable choice. Guess who they decided should be offered the vaccine. Can you believe that they decided that the members of the Trust board should be immunised?not the least surprising when nhs wastes money for quangos doing f$%k all and promoting nonsense like seen in the link http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/5806691/NHS-tells-school-children-of-their-right-to-an-orgasm-a-day.htmlEntitled Pleasure, the leaflet has been drawn up by NHS Sheffield, but it also being circulated outside the city.
The leaflet carries the slogan "an orgasm a day keeps the doctor away". It also says: "Health promotion experts advocate five portions of fruit and veg a day and 30 minutes' physical activity three times a week. What about sex or masturbation twice a week?"bubblesmoney :hello:0 -

This would create a downward spiral of unemployment, which will force us to go to the IMF. If that happens, anyone that can leave the UK should do!
Crime, poverty and homelessness will be on the cards once government spending will be forced to be cut drastically. A pretty worrying article if you understand the effects of such a massive fall in output and consumption.0 -

FWIW Our vry small parish chair saw me this morning and asked if I had a flu buddy, I said no, but had presumed I'd call my neighbour (him). He told me their is an informal volunteers panel, and I have put my name on it. Apparntly, so has pretty much every other household in the village, which is really wonderful. Its sad not all parishes are so small/friendly.
Indeed, but not all parishes having talking chairs.

Tight security for Tamiflu supplies as first centre opens
NHS security guards were patrolling the Tower Hamlets centre which is so well protected that health bosses are refusing to say exactly where it is.
Only people who have been diagnosed with the virus are being given the location to avoid it being overrun by the “worried well”. Other centres which will be set up across London will be protected to prevent thefts of the drug and ensure staff are not attacked by panicking patients.
"Armed Police! Step AWAY from the Tamiflu!"

One thought for everyone. It's just people with underlying health problems mainly at risk. How many folk out there don't actually know they've got a dodgy ticker, dormant cancer waiting to kick off or borderline diabeties0

Yes,it seems you only get a proper check up by the Doc when you have died of SF.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
