Tesco delivery mess up, urgent advice needed.

Yet I can't imagine there are many jobs where you get away with just going home because your shift's finished, even though you still have urgent work to do. The thing that was ridiculous was that all my fresh groceries would presumably have been spoiled as they would have gone back to the warehouse after trundling around in the van all day. Such a waste of time and effort.
We don't know why the driver knocked off before completing the deliveries - perhaps he'd done the number of hours driving allowed for safety (lorry drivers have limits), maybe it was his kid's birthday or wedding anniversary, perhaps he has a second job to go to, maybe the store has a policy of not paying overtime ... Most low paid jobs I have ever had the staff clocked off when their shift was finished rather than when the work was done. That's the difference between a job and a career.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Maybe he is sick of staying on all the time for peanuts.... Why didnt a manager take the shopping out?0 -
What happens when the driver delivers your order ? (ordered for the first time today)does he point out the replacements or wait for you to check your order.
Sorry for the dumb questions (I am a man afterall)

If its tesco then he will bring your shopping to your door, ask you where you want your shopping. He will let you know of any changes and if you are happy with them or if you want to return them. You dont check your order as we dont have time, you check it after and if there are any issues it can be sorted through customer services. Also if you have any old carrier bags they take them away for recycling :T0 -
I've shoped with Tesco a few times and found them a decent company with which to deal if something goes wrong.
The key thing to remember as far as I'm concerned is to tick the boxes which say you don't want substitutions.
Thus for Hot Dog rolls - which I ordered.... for er, um, Hot Dogs.. you don't get burger baps. I suppose I could have folded the Hot Dogs but somehow it's not the same....
I also ordered the meal deal package with the bottle of wine etc - and chose our favourites, only to find we weren't getting them...I never found out what happenes if they can't supply one item of the four - do you get charged on a different scale? I cancelled the lot on the doorstep.
So to avoid upset over a dark chocolate desert (as if anyone in their right mind would accept raspberry white chocolate) tick the no substitution boxes.
Very annoying as you have to find them - the Asda boxes just seem to leap up, which as far as I can see is the only good selling point for Asda.
When Tesco have delivered, they've always let me check the shopping and been decent about every problem.
With Asda - I'm told by the store manager that it is their policy NOT to let customers check their shopping. It has to be signed for to say it is all present and correct ---and argued about later.
What a complete recipe for a stressful transaction.
I've told Asda that by an amazing coincidence it is NOT MY POLICY to sign for stuff which I haven't checked.
They've given me a load of vouchers - at least they said they would, as they haven't arrived yet... after a horrendous standoff experience at the door, where I wouldn't sign to say I'd received the goods - unless I knew I had. Which seemed logical to me.
But I'm not shopping with any company that would have this ridiculous policy, depsite the vouchers.
And the poster who complained about their customer service ...
You are right. Unhelpful helpdesk.
You can try and ring their Public Relations Deparetment at their HQ in Leeds - 0113 241 7829 but at the moment they 'are in a short meeting' according to their taped announcement ..... and have been for the last two days.
I would hate to think how long their 'long meetings' run for.
But clearly they will have a lot of disgruntled customers ringing up having signed for stuff they haven't received and can't prove.... so I expect they are at it 24/7.0 -
I always have a Tesco delivery, there's no doubt always something wrong with the order, from cracked eggs, to items out of date already, but their customer service is second to none. They make a note for the driver if a customer has had a previous issue with the service so they know to ensure they're 100% accurate, on time and helpful.
We had a crate of goats milk etc delivered that wasn't mine, callled Tesco and they had someone collect it within 10 minutes. I had no room in my fridge and ws worried about the milk spoiling, but the driver said that when something's been dropped off in error they have to return it to the store and repack it with fresh goods.
xxxxxForeign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck

It is tescos policy not to check the order with the driver. They dont have time. You should call customer services if you have an issue. I should know i work for them! We had an issue with a customer who refused to sign untill he checked it all and he was told if you shop with Tesco you need to agree to comply with our rules. Just to let you know Tesco are now doing pay the lowest price for substitutions, so you only pay your original price if you get substituted a more expensive item0

If i were you i'd contact the dotcom manager from the store you get yor delivery from. The dotcom manager works from 6am till 2pm.
go to SAYNOTO0870.COM
Find your store, then change the last 2 digits to 32
i.e Tunbridge Wells is 01892 797400 change to 01892797432
Im not trying to justify the problem but occasionaly head office dont pass any information on and the store dont know what delivery your supposed to be recieving. I'd call up again asking for a £10 GOGW, delivery charge refund and your delivery rescheduled.
Hopefully the dotcom manager will personally go round the shop picking your order for you, i know mine would0 -
