Hi,
I would like to just answer your question, we do check the quality of the products that we sell and never knowingly let anything leave the warehouse that we do not think is safe to eat. All stock is visually checked and we also taste the products, to ensure that we think they meet certain standards. We will never send anything out that we ourselves would not eat.

If we do get any complaints or comments from customers about items which are mouldy, or off, we do recheck the products, to determine whether it was a one off, or if it is the whole batch. We take all comments made by customers seriously and follow up on it.

Interested in using AF but wondering if there is a cut -off date for the food they sell or could I expect stuff years out of date?

The Best before date is normally shown on the AF website for each item. If it says full date, then they haven't yet expired and will probably have at least a month or two to go (and probably more) - I think they are often the result of over productions or cancelled orders.

Having just eaten half a bar of the Double Berry chocolate (I didn't realise they were family bars!) I can happily confirm that it is absolutely perfect even 4 years out of date.
I reckon AF should have a testimonials section on the website then I'd have somewhere to vent my lavish praise!

I made a meringue mix and then put a couple of chopped up bars of the Double Berry chocolate in it. Delicious! OH also ate a bar and said it was fine. I'm not a fan of white chocolate so won't be eating it raw but it was absolutely fine in the meringue.

I have to say I have never been disappointed with the products or service I have received from AF.
We had 2 large orders arrive on the same day last week (this was down to the courier not AF) and the orders were wrapped so well. There were a couple of substitutions but that's fine it doesnt happen very often and although we are slightly disappointed that the item we wanted was out of stock they always pick something that we don't mind havin extra of lol.

satan666 I gave it a sniff but it seems fine, certainly doesn't taste sour. At just over a penny for a family bar I'm not complaining!

lauzjp - thanks for that, I'd not noticed before. It's AF in general I would really like to praise. I've never had such good customer service from anyone before and they are just as brilliant when you go to the shop.
