Does anyone know what the 'best before' date is on the York Fitness 'weight gainer' powder tubs? My son wanted to buy some, he is a bit funny about the dates and it doesn't appear to say on the website.
I've found that pretty much everything on the site has contributed to my weight gain...perhaps some bakin boys king size would do?:p

Please do not tempt me with those cupcakes... I just ordered two boxes anyway! lol :D I can only eat the sponge part though, as the icing is a bit sickly for me personally.
My son can buy his own cupcakes! ;)

Ive not tried the cupcakes yet but my dad says the icing is too sickly as well. I ordered two boxes but ended up with four as they didn't have something else I required. Im hoping I won't find them too sickly otherwise i've got a lot of cakes to get through!

I just tried the tomato bread and the flat bread- both taste nice and the flatbread in particular is obviously a quality product. The spanish crisps are good too.

Got my first order through - next day delivery by DHL, really well packed with squished cardboard boxes in the gaps so no nasty plastic to recycle. Bang on 28kg!
Got 6x 2litre bottles of Loyd Grosman Tomato and Basil soup for £1 each (= 12 litres!!) so will be eating that FOREVER! Just realised that I need a bigger freezer to cope with buying soup in bulk.
Highly recommend the Fruitabu packs of cranberries or cherries - one of your 5-a-day, brilliant for lunchboxes and totally scrummy. Recommend buying a whole box-worth rather than a few packs.
Learning to live with an IVA - no overdraft - no credit cards - no safety net - very very scary _pale_ All advice gratefully received! :A
  • I have recently discovered Approved Food, and is it me or are the best befores getting longer? I have ordered off them 3 times now and have never been disappointed, only once have they called me and admitted that they were out of stock on one item which they replaced with a different flavour! I think they are doing a great job in this financial climate, I don't think I am using them to their full potential at the moment tho...when I read about the amount of cupcakes people ordered....what I would like to know off other users is where do you store things?? There is no way I would be able to store an order costing 50 quid!! We buy all hubbys "junk food" off there and store the drinks in cases in the shed..is the potential there to kinda "convert" things from their tinned state to frozen or something? like...spaghetti letters perhaps?? Have recently been made redundant..any info is helpful...

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have lost count of the orders I have had now from Approved foods! All have been very good, no problems. Storage is a problem but I have successfully frozen down, into portion sizes, the curry sauce, arrabiata sauce and the loyd grosman tomato soup. Also freezing the malt loaves improved them on defrosting as they are a little bit dry.

Best buys so far have been the herbal teas (6 boxes for £1) and the green tea (20p) I keep looking for them to come back again! Also the heinz tomato sauce (2 for £1) , porridge oats (50p) and the large tins of kidney beans (10p)
Mr C loved the chilli ketchup which is sadly now longer on the site:(

I have just ordered the dental sticks for Penny (60p for 3 large sticks which I break into 2 for our little pooch) and am tempted again to order more stuff, better go sort out a cupboard ready as all the cup-a-soups keep falling off the shelf onto my head!:rotfl:
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
