There are five rock-solid reasons why we think residential property will halve between now and July 29, 2009:
If they mean the end of the month - then we'd better get cracking - I'm not sure how many working days are left............0 -

Don't they realise if what they say is true, people will not have the luxury of paying their £75 yearly subscription.
They just want all our money in and turned into gold before
a) The wealth assaults cause the banks to collapse and its becomes a full blown war and we have to fend zombie bankers off with pitch forks.
b) A big rock the size of texas is spotted on a collision course with earth and we have to hire Bruce Willis to save us.

I do actually think you are right here some of the issues they raise are valid. I just really object the the "Fire and Brimstone" writing approach. Please remember other opinions are available.0 -

Actually, whether you like or dislike the article or style, no-one has yet managed to raise an objection to any of the substance of the article, which is all solid commonsense.
I don't know about halving from here on, but there is no way that substantial further falls in house prices are not going to happen, given the rises in unemployment, huge amounts of mortgage fraud bubbling under the surface, interest rates about to rise etc etc.
If prices can fall 20% even with the lowest rates in 400 years and before unemployment kicks in, how people imagine it's going to stay static or rise once this all gets going, I simply cannot imagine.
Too much wishful thinking going on, I think....0 -
Of course there are some trends in the article, carolt, but to extrapolate general trends and come to a fixed conclusion of 50% falls without justifying that figure is intellectually assinine.0
