Raspberry Diva, does your LO get DLA? And does she have a diagnosis?
If your earned income is less than £23000 you may be able to get some help from the family fund charity:

I don't know if this would be of any use to you, but the In Car Safety Centre (based in Milton Keynes) sell special needs car seats. They provided helpful advice to me by email when I had trouble finding a suitable seat for my daughter who was too large for the size of seat she should have been in for her age. They have an online shop but I would suggest you find a local retailer to try the seats out first before you buy: http://incarsafetycentre.co.uk/shop/special.html0 -

Just a word of warning, I noticed that jcmseating are selling an adapted version of the Recaro Start car seat. We bought the standard Recaro Start for our daughter originally and it was completely unsuitable for her (and was wrongly fitted by the shop we bought it from). We got a refund in the end. Which magazine also advised against buying this seat as it didn't provide enough protection. It is also a really heavy seat!0 -

This one goes up to the age of 12 yrs , I got the other one that Deanos recommended for my 2 yr old daughter who is just too heavy for a normal car seat with harness and too young for a high backed booster . My DD2 is nearly a metre tall and I would say she would have at least another 3 years in that seat but not much longer than that . I would see if you could get some kind of grant and go for the more expensive seat that will last you longer .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

Hi
Not sure if this is the correct thread to post on but I am having trouble trying to keep my 2 year old son safely strapped in his car seat. We have the Britax Eclipse Si and up until a couple of weeks ago he was fine, but then he suddenly worked out how to get his arms out and likes to sit forward!! No matter how tight I strap him in he manages to wiggle out.
He is currently suffering from the terrible twos and is into everything, so am pulling my hair out anyway and now this! I went shopping to Tescos earlier and had to stop 6 times to put them back on him but no matter what I say he still takes them off.
I have been searching the internet for something that I can use to prevent this happening but cannot find anything - does anyone have the same problem or any ideas as I am worried about safety.
Many thanks in advance.
