I have an Eclipse Si and it's fab! Reclines so little one can have a nap, is high enough for her to see out of the window and there is loads of room left in it and she's a tall 2 1/2.
Is a good fit in my Fiesta but I was wondering if any knows if these fit in Mondeos (1995 model) as I am changing my car!0 -
The Britax Fit Finder http://www.britax.co.uk/FitFinder/GB/login.php shows which cars each model fits in; it says it's fine for a 1995 Mondeo 5 door. Check for yourself to be sure.0

crispeater wrote:i cant remember if i read it in a paper or saw it on the news but a car seat safety person (anonomously) went round to all the suppliers who put in carseats and got them to install one into their car. it turned out the only company that did all the correct checks were mothercare!
even halfords forgot some safety points which apparently coz of been potentially dangerous in a car accident.
i have to admit though the carseat that my daughter is in, i fitted myself
this parently lark aint easy is it! lol

Thank you everyone. In the end i got a Britax Isofix. Just need to get her weighed now to check she's over the 9kg mark!0

im going away next friday and i was considering moving ds into the next stage carseat. he's just under 8mths old and im not sure how much he weighs so really he shouldnt be in the next stage, but as the drive is 4 hours long i didnt want him in the 1st stage carseat due to when he falls asleep his head hits his chin. whereas if i move him into the next one, it reclines which means he can lay down comfortably... i've currently put a deposit down on the britax eclipse si so i know he could safely just lay right down in it for the whole journey. what do you think? im just worried about his head being stooped on a long journeyIt only seems kinky the first time.. :A0

Hi,
It really depends on a few factors. To go to a stage 2-9months car seat generally the child has to be 20lbs AND sitting up unaided.
I hope this helps,

i very much doubt he has reached 20lbs as 5 weeks ago he was only 16lb 3.5oz lol and he doesnt sit unaided for very long.. i'll have to tape his head to the back of his chair stop him getting neck ache when he falls asleep lmaoIt only seems kinky the first time.. :A0

How about one of those kiddy support pillows that go around the neck. I used to have an inflatable one with a cover so you could get it to the required fill. I know there are also poly bean filled ones. You can't help but imagine what your own neck would feel like after that length of time. THat's supposing baby sleeps though!0

Your baby is not ready for the next stage up and i would advise against it as we were also looking in to getting our baby the second stage one when he was 8 months so we went to halfords and the saleman who came out to see said in no uncertain terms should we be getting a seat as they need to be over 20lbs and sitteng up by themselves, if not then this can cause injury to the head and neck if in an accident.
As previous poster said i would go for a support cushion for their head so they don't flop, you can get them from mothercare.
Hope this helps.0 -
if they are tilted back and you put the cushion like a smile UNDER their CHIN it stops the head flopping forward.Every day above ground is a good one0
