Yeah like i say i've bought alot of their stuff and its usually been great. I am wondering if i can play the old "i'll never shop with you again card" as that often works in these situations, only bettered by the old "i'm going to tell everyone i know how rubbish you are"This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Wouldn't worry about it - sure if you call they'll take it back. Don't worry about having to ruin it to do so - it's a bit like these things sealed in plastic that say "return in original packaging"...besides, if it's faulty, it's not like they will be able to sell it again anyway...0 -
They will probably get a credit from the manufacturer0

Well if you read the original message you would see that the problem was with the bed frame, hence whether a matress was included or not wasn't the issue and has no relevance for the problem. Plus even if i did pay £160 for both a bed frame and matress that would be no real business of yours! I posted a message asking advice for a problem with my argos bed frame and you've offered nothing at all constructive and just been judgemental and now slightly patronising! To be honest people like you make me sick!
Again, no need to be rude.
Your post said you bought a double bed (i.e. frame and mattress) for £160, and the problem was with the frame.
Your post was unclear and I made a (wrong) assumption. I was not being judgemental or patronising, so there's no need to be so over-sensitive.
I'm not sure Argos will be overly fussed by a "we'll never shop here again" threat, but perhaps worth a try.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Whether you thought it was a frame and mattress or just a frame is somewhat irrelevant, surely...as your conjecture was that spending < £200 on a frame you should expect it to be cracked or generally not fit for purpose.0 -

Yeah it was just a pointless statement from her. At the end of the day even if i had bought a bed (frame and matress) from Argos for £160 i think i would be perfectly entitled to expect the bed to not be cracked! If i had bought it from Ebay then i probably couldn't complain but Argos is a major company and you expect them to provide furniture in reasonable condition. Theres no clause in the brochure that says as this bed frame is less than £200 it may be !!!!!!)
Anyway for the rest of you thanks for all your help. I'm sending it back and getting a refund. I'm off to Dreams now to get a new bed frame (although i'll make sure i spend in excess of £200)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Ok then, perhaps it's just me that wouldn't expect a £160 "double bed" from Argos (mattress AND frame) to be any good!!
A £160 frame only should be semi-decent.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

Define "good2?
OPs problem is that the thing's cracked. I might not expect it to be a "good" bed, but I'd expect it to be "a bed", in one piece, in new condition.
Would I enter the bedroom olympics on it? Maybe not, but it should, at least, work as a bed.0 -
I bought a bed from Argos in Dec, it was only £200 (for the base and mattress) and I bought it expecting it to last 6 months or so, until I could afford to buy a better one. A few months later it started sagging quite badly. I rang customer services and they delivered a replacement (and collected the old one) a few days later!
The new one seems to be much better quality and is showing no signs of wear and tear. The delivery driver told us that ours was the 3rd bed he'd swapped that day, so it must have been a faulty batch.
It is definitely worth giving them a call.0
