The Compers Inn - Part 22

It's a handheld electronic toy & he says it doesn't do what it's supposed to do, you press to move one way but it moves another etc. Having had a quick look online cheapest I can see is around £25 which I simply don't have. I don't see how dropping a KIDS toy can make it stop working like this unless it was faulty to start with, I would certainly be trying to get money back where I bought it from if it was mine & it went like that within a few days. It says on Argos age 5 upwards so surely it should be a bit more durable? I don't like the parent anyway, like I said we've had trouble in the past with the family & it's one of those you avoid where you can. I didn't know he knew where we lived so am horrified he came banging on the door like that all guns blazing so to speak2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

Also really sorry about DH's grandma, hope you both pull through this and support each other x She is at least being looked after and you can't do more hun. This is unfortuantely beyond your control ...you can only show her how much she is loved etc and I am sure the medical stuff will look after her the best they can.
guys ...I was going to ask please, do you know where I can buy an ipod that is not too expensive but good enough to impress a high tech 12 year old boy, my nephew!0 -
sorry to hear about your dh's grandma x
I would at least ask to see the toy before even considering handing over any money. You could also ask where he got it from and phone them to check what there policy would be on replacing it and tell him what they say (as you said I assume it's a manufacturing fault so they should replace it or at least send it off for testing but if you check you're not lying when you tell him that). He sounds like he's being a jerk and you shouldn't even had to do that much but I wouldn't give him money without proof it's broken2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
2013: £134.960 -

I agree but I understand how PMS feels about not wanting to get involved with this idiot
Whatever you do PMS, I would not give him cash. Tell him to bring it and you will replace it, and then you may get some help from the store he bought from?
I am still fuming!!! Where have the principles gone!!!!!0 -
I agree about not getting involved but if he's coming round your house then it's hard not to do anything2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

He said he bought it cash from Argos on Wednesday, I said if he gave me the box &/or receipt I would sort it out but apparently he doesn't have either.
DH is scared we're going to come home one day to find our windows smashed or something, he is in a really bad state as it is we really don't need this. I wish I could just say to this 'parent' here's the money then it's dealt with but I can't, plus I don't want to seem like I'm a pushover otherwise he's likely to try it on again with something else2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0 -
Argos normally have a really good Customer Services, they changed one DVD player that I bought in Christams and went faulty in October last year without being too fussy, They had to look at bank account though ....so no receipt and no flipping box and he paid by cash mmmmmm0
