Evening all
Had one hell of a day & feel like it really couldn't get any worse to be honest
DH's Grandma is now in hospital, luckily they haven't put her in intensive care yet but it's a possibility if no improvement soon. The whole family is in a mess about it, she's 77 years old & has almost given up at the moment. We're all so scared she's not going to come out but trying to stay positive for the kids sake.
We went out to local chinese for tea to celebrate DD's fantastic school report, we had been promising her this all week & asked if she still wanted to go it was nice to try forget about things for a while but didn't work very well to be honest.
Came home to a 'parent' from school trying to hammer my door down complaining that my DD has broken one of his kids toys which 'apparently' he only bought 2 days ago. It's an electronic game that is priced £30 at Argos & he was demanding we pay him £30 NOW or we'll have trouble later, we've had bother with him before but now that school are closed for summer it's like it's us against him. Now DD admits she dropped the toy by accident, which ok she shouldn't have done BUT I haven't got £30 spare & if it's only a few days old, he's got no receipt or box so can't try exchange it etc etc I do wonder if he's trying it on a bit. What do I do? He's said he'll come back in a week but DH is in such a state over his Grandma he's not a good mood to deal with it. I've offered to pay him £5 but don't have any money on me, we need all the spare money we can get to be doing hospital trips every day & DH doesn't get paid for another 2 weeks. Help someone please?2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0 -

Is the toy still usable? Is this something you can pick up cheaper anywhere else? Would dropping have caused the damage he's saying. If the man can't understand that you need the money to visit a sick relative then i don't know what to really suggest sorry but he's not very nice.Thankyou to all the posters of competitions :beer:0 -
OMG !!! PMS, I don't believe that anyone behaves like that for F sake (Sorry) but this is a child here who unintentionally broke a toy!!:mad:Don't let him dare spoil your weekend ...his is not spoilt!!!:mad: BUT this did make blood boil...
Also really sorry about DH's grandma, hope you both pull through this and support each other x She is at least being looked after and you can't do more hun. This is unfortuantely beyond your control ...you can only show her how much she is loved etc and I am sure the medical stuff will look after her the best they can.
guys ...I was going to ask please, do you know where I can buy an ipod that is not too expensive but good enough to impress a high tech 12 year old boy, my nephew!0
