I won't be getting anything. My mum has said she'll come to my graduation if she's not busy... She really doesn't get uni and the fact that graduating is a big deal.

Oh well. My present will be knowing i've succeeded at something outside my comfort zone. That's enough for me :)

Good luck to you, I find this so sad, as the mum of a son who is due to graduate next year(fingers crossed) wild horses wouldn't stop me from attending his graduation.

No teddy bears! OH has one and it lives a box in the loft. I hate them.

I don't actually need anything tbh, but if I had to choose, jewellery (if I could choose it myself) www.etsy.com is my most favorite site ever as you can get some lovely individual pieces :D

I skipped my Masters graduation and my parents went ballistic. I don't want to go my DPhil one either, but they are already laying on the guilt :(

My mum graduates herself next year though :) I am very proud :D

I find it sad sometimes too. I know she is proud of me in her way, but she doesn't really understand how hard I work or that graduating isn't just a run of the mill thing my friend's parents are coming from half way around the world and my mum only has to come an hour on the train...

Still, my grandmother will tell anyone that will listen about me studying :o

  • Wow! I can't believe the presents some of you got!!!

Just having worked to get a good degree is enough for me! Although I did get a bottle of Rose of my parents :D
  • So far I've had money from my grandma and one of my uncles (all of which is being used to fund my holiday to Istanbul in September), but nothing from my parents. If I had utterly free rein though I'd love a netbook or a new phone, but both of those are quite expensive and my parents spent a *lot* of money on me for my 21st last year, so I'm really not expecting to get anything big.

We are going out for dinner after my graduation though so I'm happy for that to be my present.

My mum got me, amongst other little things, a links of london charm - a little graduation hat with gold tassle, it's gorgeous!

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • I am also not bothered about gifts and presents etc. I would just like to be happy and settled in a secure job after finishing my degree.
