Cinnamon Toast
Old-fashioned wintry tea time treat
Make cinnamon sugar -mix a tbsp of sugar with half a tsp of cinnamon (or to taste).
Toast bread (thick slices of white are best) on one side only.
Spread untoasted side with liberal amounts of butter (not marge or other spread stuff).
Sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly over the butter.
Toast sugar side until bubbling.0 -
I just love cinnamon,(even called one of my cat's by that name as he looked like he'd been sprinkled with it).
I use it in lots of sweet and savoury dishes,I think everyone has mentioned them all already.
I love the smell of it and burn cinnamon incense sometimes when I need to relax,as I find it's such a comforting smell.
Nothing better that a sniff of cinnamon to take you back to those childhood Christmas's and cold wintry afternoon tea times.
My hubby can't stand the stuff though.
Never mind,his loss.0 -

Alternatively, you can pop a cinnamon stick in a pan of water and simmer on a low heat to scent the room.0 -
It's a wee bit OT mrs L, but you asked and I answer
I was looking into swine flu, and the 1918 spanish flu. I aked if anybody DIDNT get it, and found reference to a group of London dockworkers, who all worked in a cinnamon warehouse ! Therefore it might mean that you have to inhale the dust...but eating it as well won't go wrong ...
Please dont start a discussion on flu in here or I will be smacked on the leg ! LOL !0
