I can't think of anything that I don't compromise on. I shop in Aldi and when my colleague wants to go to the supermarket at lunch time, whichever one she drags me to I just buy the special offers. Our local Asda has a couple of good reduced sections which is where I tend to buy meat and fish from. They also always have a discounted bread section which I buy and freeze.
This means that at the moment my food/cleaning products bill comes to £15 per week maximum (there's just me!) and my freezer is always well stocked which helps if tempted to get a takeaway cos there's always something quick to cook in the freezer!
Don't know what all the fuss is about toilet roll though!! I just get whatever's cheapest as it doesn't last long and just gets flushed away!!!! Official DFW Nerd - Member 408 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 Official DFW Nerd - Member 408 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!0

True, but compared to squares of newspaper, value loo roll is hardly as informative on contemporary issues :rotfl:0

            Organic veg.
 Decent tea bags.
 Half-ways decent loo roll.
Vege anyway, but wouldn't buy value meat.
 Organic free range eggs.
Sicked up too much cheap wine at University, so have to have halfways decent wine (always on offer, mind you)
Haven't tried cheapo beer, but quite happy with stella from Lidl at £8 a box, which is usually 12 in morrisons.
Also still use decent cosmetics, skin products and shampoo / conditioner, though I only buy them when i've sold enough on ebay to cover it.

Can I ask whether you do that same mental arithmetic thing as I do when you walk into your local wine shop?
(*Errrrm, four cans for £x.xx, but 12 cans is £x.xx which works out at errmmmm...£x.xx for 4, BUT OH MY GOD 24 cans is £x.xx which works out at errm....£x.xx for 4, errrrmm....the queue is getting bigger must decide must decide*)0
