I would be astounded if there was only a further 3% fall in the next 6 months. The 'recovery' clearly isn't happening and there is a lot of bad news to come. I see a further 2 months of small falls before moving back to 2% falls in autumn. A total of 10% seems more likely.

So whats your take on the nationwide figures?

It's only a 0.5% drop, so save your desperation for when were back into the -1.8% drops.

It might only be 0.5% drop but if my house value falls that much, it is equuivalent to a month's pay.

Yayyy! Normal service has been resumed! :)

20% further falls was my prediction, only 19.5% to go :D

    Onward and downward!

No offence but having a house worth twelve times your salary (assuming you meant net montly pay and that you pay around 30% tax) suggests that you have benefited from the outrageous HPI over the last decade and thus shouldn't complain when this begins it's natural reversal.

Has anyone got a link to a graph of prices, rather than YoY change?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Well you obviously have a very very expensive home if 0.5% is equivalent to a months pay. So I shouldn't be complaining too much.

I take it you would rather see prices go up 0.5% and maybe then be another months pay out of reach of people?

Plus, if it's your home, what does it really matter?

If you earn £1k per month, then it's the equivalent of a 0.5% drop on a £200k house. Hardly "very, very" expensive. It might be simply that GG bought his house while he was earning far more than he earns now. Perhaps he works part time due to illness, etc?

Let's not be so quick to judge.

Well, I know he earns a lot more than 1k a month ;)

So lets not be too quick to judge!

Even on 24k a year, which I believe he earns a lot more than, it would be a 400k house.

    I make 16k (1k a month take home) a year = 200k house in that scenario.

I'd be very careful about believing what people say on internet forums. This may come as a surprise to you (and please do sit down at this point), but some people are fantasists and make up a completely different on-line life to their real life.

It may be that many of the wealthy BTLers (etc) on here are actually typing away in their LA flats, sipping Thunderbird and waiting for the Giro to arrive.

Let's not be too quick to believe! ;)
