I was eating my dinner this evening and the home phone rang......EGG......so I went through the motions and listened to their latest delightful recorded message.

Then as soon as I had hung up at the end, and before I had even got back to my chili con carne, my mobile started ringing from, yes, EGG!

How on earth can that be seen as reasonable

  • But why when you have already phoned the !!!!ers to tell them you fixed it.

    That is a bit scary.

I have been doing some adding up and I know what you mean about being close to the wire. sighs.

It is payday tomorrow and I always clear the card in full on payday.....so this time I will be closing it at the same time.....

It will mean I have to make do through August without a card to buy groceries on, so that means a storecupboard challenge and minimal spends, but if I can get through August doing that, then from next month's payday it will be straight.

A mixed day today - I kept my egg card open with a £500 limit, and I use it for groceries and petrol, and clear it in full every month. It has been that way for about a year now, with no problems.

Then today I discovered I was very slightly over my limit - and got charged £16 as a result. My fault - I took my eye off the ball and have to pay the consequences.

I corrected it immediately - moving money from egg savings to the egg card, so it should be applied with minimal delay, and I messaged them to tell them so, and to request that they stop ringing me "as a courtesy call" as the position was now rectified.

Instead of which, the phone has rung every 10 mins at times  I am so !!!!!! off with them. I am at the point when I think I just need to cancel everything with them, and walk away.

It just highlights how stressful I still find all of this, and how close to the wire we are still. I hate days like this when it comes home to hit me - I know how much progress we have made, but of course we still have a long way to go before we can ease off and make life more comfortable. Perhaps I am kidding myself about how close we are to being through this. *sigh*

But in other news, my ebay buyer has paid :T and I got home to a surprise package from an MSE'er......so if you are reading this, thank you very very much x

Which you could have done months ago. The egg card was just keeping you dependent on debt.

To be honest, I am as annoyed with myself for

    a) getting myself into the situation in the first place ie being overlimit

    b) allowing Egg to make me feel like this at all!

I am tired, I have mouth ulcers again, I am skint, and I am fed up of it.

But....on the plus side, I have done a £2 survey for pureprofile and am 80% to cashin there.....

......and I have a secret kitkat chunky in my handbag :o

You know Z you have a point there. I did the same with an Asda card, use it for work expenses and what not, but that is being closed down when i get paid on the 1st. Don't need it and don't want it.
