Just going to book a trip to go and climb Ayers Rock (Uluru) because apparently they are going to stop people climbing it in the next few months. I think we'll look into hiring a camper van which would be good fun.

Make sure if you can to leave enough time to walk round the base of Ayres rock. Its really, really beautiful and you can see a lot of different textures/ sacred sites /cave drawings/ pitting/ shapes of the rock from different angles rather than the classic postcard image of Uluru (look here - some random bloke on Flickr's pics). We all decided not to climb but were very glad we walked round it instead. If you've got time go to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) too as they are well worth it - close to Uluru with lots of far smaller similarly coloured mounds you can explore. :T :D

Ooh - thanks for that Taka, I know its morally suspicious to climb Uluru but I still can't resist it! We will be down there for a few days so I will take your advice - thanks

    No problem! Hijack away!!

Housework is coming along reasonably well......still a long way to go, but I have stopped for a coffee (surprise surprise!).

DD had a text from a friend asking if she wants to join them for a week's holiday in a Haven type place - just needs to take spending money. Of course, the answer is a big YES! She will save her paper round money through the summer quite happily, and I will send some money to make sure the family are not out of pocket for food and stuff, but all in all, it will be a fab week away for her at the end of the school holidays :T

    Sorry for thread hijack Hypno!
There was a sign explaining why you are encouraged NOT to climb and this was reinforced at the cultural centre nearby too (Uluru is sacred to the local aborigines) but no one will stop you... When we started the base walk the climb was open but when we got back it had been closed as someone had collapsed up on the rock... The climb is very exposed and if its too hot or windy it will be closed anyway. If you really really want to climb you may have to stay for a few days just to make sure you get to. Some friends went just after the rainy season and it was so lush and green with loads of flowers! Enjoy - its fabulous!

Lots - I have done very little on there this week really so am on about £28....cash in is £50, so hopefully I can get there before I go on hols.....if I do 1 or 2 a day between now and then, it would get me there without any danger of churning.

Well, the ironing has been done while I watched Chocolat on DVD - shortly to be reviewed on dooyoo  (the film, not the ironing, I hasten to add).

I am just about ready for the new arrival - just as well as she arrives in about an hour! The place could be better, but it could be a whole lot worse!

I've not yet done any script writing though - and fear that it may have to go by the wayside this week.
