Aaah, I loved the film Chocolat - don't love ironing though! Look forward to reading your review :)

I blew £1.90 on a Sunday newspaper today, why did I bother? They're sooooo boring the Sunday papers, much prefer a Saturday one, but got it cos it's got a 20% off ferries to France voucher (that yes, I know, I probably could have found online....). I wanted a "treat" and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

So, I now have £15.65 left of my virtual £20.

Feeling like death warmed up with a stinky cold that is not swine flu no matter what my dad reckons! We've now come back home so that my mum didn't come out of hospital and get a cold straight away, not quite sure how I got home, don't remember much of the journey.....oops!

kittikins, I hope you feel better soon.

I have £5.02 left of my £20 - I gave the children money for lunch yesterday as they were both helping out at the ski club for most of the day.

Today has been a NSD though :j

My new student has arrived - she seems very nice, but doesn't have a great deal of English, so I see a lot of use of the English French dictionary for the next few days :o Either that, or we will have a lot of Franglais from all of us being spoken!!

I was pleased to get all my cleaning done yesterday except my ironing - which is calling now - but I'm pretending not to hear it 'lalalalalalalalalalala'

Went to a surprise birthday do last night and had a fantastic time meeting my oldest friend's family that I've not seen in years - felt like part of family myself and that it was only yesterday we were together last instead of 20 years in some cases (Milann in dreamy mood reminiscing now)

Spent more of my £20 today - went to Yorkshire to a garden railway day (DH's hobby - and part reason for big cc bills) - left my coat at home and sky went very black - spent an unnecessary fiver on fold away shower coat 'just in case' - sun came out and laughed at me - could even see it smiling down 'cos I'd spent the cash and didn't need to. Very glad of a few hours in sunshine tho -£5.50 left - how long till I break into the fiver????????????

Has your student cheque arrived yet Hypno?
    January spends - £587.58

Well, the ironing has been done while I watched Chocolat on DVD - shortly to be reviewed on dooyoo  (the film, not the ironing, I hasten to add).

I am just about ready for the new arrival - just as well as she arrives in about an hour! The place could be better, but it could be a whole lot worse!

I've not yet done any script writing though - and fear that it may have to go by the wayside this week.

Still missing one cheque - £300  I will be making another phone call tomorrow.....

The cheque for the current student won't arrive until next week - you only get paid in the second half of their stay, in case there are any problems and the student needs to move family in the first few days. Fair enough really.......so that should arrive before we go on holiday.

    Fingers crossed!

  • Good luck with the new student Hypno. Should be an interesting few days!

I've not had such a good day today. Every once in a while the grief hits badly and today was one of those days where the lid's popped off again. I know what to do to keep myself safe - I don't put any pressure on myself to do anything irrespective of perceived need. I've done no laundry, ironing or cleaning this week, I've forgotten to pay the credit cards and I've not got enough money in the account to pay for the TV licence, but I'm sure all will be well.

So today, I've drunk loads of tea, tried to read and cried a whole heap. Feeling better now, rid of the worst of the grief, just sad and exhausted. Yesterday I was fine, tomorrow I'll be OK, just today's been a bit harsh.

Good to have subscribed to this thread to dip into and touch base. I'm grateful to you all. Delighted that Shaun et al., are enjoying their holiday. Have a good week everyone. And because I love the smiley and it reminds me to remember my blessings :D

(((hugs))) hiphouse, and well done for getting through the day - sometimes when these days hit us, the best thing to do is just to give in to it, let the emotion drain out, and the tears to flow. It feels as though you are "giving in" but what you are doing is dealing with what needs to be dealt with, and not bottling it up for another day. If you don't let it come through, it will only come and hit you twice as hard when you least expect it.

As you say, today has been harsh. Tomorrow will be better, although you may feel absolutely shattered from today so don't expect miracles. Tuesday will feel much better, I'm sure xx

Ooops work have a huge incentive going on-added loads of extra hours and a massive cash incentive if we do 30 hours of overtime (in a week) already clocked up 5 so 25 to go. I'm having this mental idea that as tomorrow is my day off I could work 8.30am to 11pm and do another 13 odd hours which would "only" leave another 22 to do by Friday which is very do-able especially as Friday is my day off. Have I lost the plot ?
