The great thing about a sig is that you get to update it - a fab way to start any day :D

I just called them back and reduced the amount I will borrow to £8500 which is the amount plus what I have in the "pot" already, to clear the barclayloan......

It doesn't make much difference on a monthly repayment basis, but will have a lower penalty if I pay off early, as there will be less capital outstanding, and if the worst comes to the worst and it has to run for the full 2 years, it will make a fair bit of difference in the total amount repayable.

    Phew.......:p

    good move :T

    Thank you!!

I feel quite giddy really :rotfl:

It feels one step closer - even though I still owe the same amount of money! One thing that will alter slightly is that the amount of credit showing on my file will be slightly less as I will be using the savings pot to pay the balance.....so that has to be a good thing, even though as far as I am concerned, the total amount to find remains the same.

They are sending the papers out tomorrow, so it should all be done and dusted in a week or so - I could have had them couriered at a cost of £70 but the MSE said use the normal post........For £70, I could go down and collect the papers myself by train

Ah, now they didn't mention biscuits......perhaps if they had, I would have been prepared to pay the £70 ;)

  • Well done Hypno - Halifax are tough underwriters, so your credit rating must have improved by a lot. They will have reflected your mortgage etc as well, so your good repayment history will have paid dividends.

A huge saving in interest as well - congrats
