It will be nice to be without that 24.9% - that number annoyed me so much, but I was stuck with it, it seemed.
It also means that practically all my debt is with one provider - the halifax - mortgage and loan - so will be much easier to see it as one number that I owe, rather than lots of different amounts, which psychologically appeals to me, strange though it might seem....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I echo exactly what DT said! Thats brilliant news on such a huge drop in APR, you certainly deserve it after carrying that horrid 24.9% for so long!

I just called them back and reduced the amount I will borrow to £8500 which is the amount plus what I have in the "pot" already, to clear the barclayloan......
It doesn't make much difference on a monthly repayment basis, but will have a lower penalty if I pay off early, as there will be less capital outstanding, and if the worst comes to the worst and it has to run for the full 2 years, it will make a fair bit of difference in the total amount repayable.

It will be Halifax mortgage, Halifax secured loan (£11k ish), Halifax loan £8.5k and virgin 0% card £3.5k:j that surely deserves some chocolate cake
