Well, I spoke to a very nice young chap at my "current" insurance providers and told him I would not be renewing. Surprise surprise, he could then manage to reduce the premium to £360 (which is more or less the same as I paid last year) from the £599 they had sent to me in the post :rolleyes:

I still said thanks but no thanks - but it is shocking how much extra they are trying to get people to pay - and of course, a lot of people wouldn't do anything other than accept it without looking anywhere else! Daylight robbery :mad:

Just at the top of the posts, there is a pale blue strip - third one in says "User CP" - go on that, then on left hand side about half way down it says "edit signature" - click on that and get creative!

It is annoying when they do that. I usually go to someone else as a matter of principle.

That's what I said to him, that even if he had matched my new quote I would have gone elsewhere just because they had the cheek to try on such a big increase.

To give him his dues, he said that he would have been shocked had he got the same sort of "automatic" increase, so he could understand exactly where I was coming from. They do get extra points for having a UK call centre, though, which is a rarity nowadays, and something that I may miss, should I have to make a claim with my new people :rolleyes:

Shocking that insurance quote...just got my renewal through as well but only gone up by about £60 but will be looking bat quidco when I have a clear head.

Quidco has finally failed to come up with the goods for my car insurance...my renewal is cheaper... :eek:

Snap! it is so annoying that you get sod all for being a loyal customer but as soon as you call to cancel rabbits are suddenly pulled from hats... booo!!!!

But £80 cashback Hypno - not all bad:T:T and perhaps if they'd not upped the price you would just have gone with them...

Blimey - frame that renewal notice........it must be one of those freak anomolies - like the 20ps without the date on :cool: You could ebay it in due course for even more MSE money!

I feel as though I have had about 10 mins sleep :rolleyes: I'd like to go back to bed, please.....

But, obviously that is not an option, so scratches done - 10ps only, and banking done - £75 has gone out, so that has reduced my debt accordingly, signature and snowball updated.
