Different Corner, you could be me! We should probably start a 'Giving Up the Sweet Stuff Support Thread'. There would be loads of joiners from the replies here!

InaPickle, great idea. This conversation has got me thinking. On my way to work I pass two newsagents a supermarket and a Julian Graves, if Julian Graves 'gets' me I'm more likely to buy goji berries or almonds (supposed to make you feel full ?) but cinder toffee can jump out at me !

Once upon a time on my diary, I seem to recall having a discussion about putting vanilla essence on your wrists - it too stops sweet cravings!

There is a certain supermarkets 'Baby Bottom Butter' that every one was raving about 18months ago that has a strong vanilla smell and is a great moisturiser too.

Today I am guilty of three jammy dodgers and two hobnobs at work - note no cocoa involved. My big weakness is toblerone it's a real treat for me, haven't had one for yonks.

As I'm knocking the alcohol on the head I very aware of sugar lows in the evening.

And thanks for the g & b tip Karma, the kids don't like the real stuff so maybe thats the way to go.

I used to work near one of those so I know EXACTLY what you mean. How maddening is it that a shop you go into to avoid the bad stuff stocks it as well, in big bags, right next to the good stuff?! My weakness has always been chocolate-coated banana chips as I can convince myelf that they are half-healthy, containing as they do FRIED banana! That's a bad habit that carried on from uni.

I don't know, you go to a health shop in order to feel healthily smug and they do that to you. It's not on! ;)

As for sweet-smelling moisturisers, ever heard of Palmer's cocoa butter? It smells like chocolate. It honestly smells like you could lick it from the bottle. Mmm...

Now I'm feeling like I *need* a bar of green and blacks.... says the fairly newly diagnosed diabetic.... arrrrgh!!

Edit - Am back from the Library and shop..... have broken the bar of Fair trade 85% into pieces and its in the freezer - it was sort of MSE as it was on offer and 85p cheaper than G&B

But I could happily eat a full sized bar of G&B or Lindt.....even the 80 or 90 percent stuff that is not easily available here. And of course when they are on offer - buy 2 for £2 for example, I could happily eat 2 :o

I fear there is no hope for me!

Although as I sit here at my desk I am eating grapes and drinking water :A

Hmmmm its not choc that gets me... its crisps! :o I even have a bar of choc thats been kicking around for a fortnight uneaten... It was bought to take on holiday with me (only to London lol) and it made it back again uneaten! Crisps on the other hand last minutes no matter what size of bag! :o

I need to meal plan better too as I always get home later than planned and end up buying/eating crap as I'm hungry and need something immediate. A bag of crisps doesn't = healthy well balanced food... :o :rotfl:
