Well done on the £5 win Hypno and for getting so much of the garden sorted. WE have a lovely garden - do still need to put a few more weeds in the garden bin but other than that it is looking pretty good!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That's it, we are done for the weekend -the last of the available gravel has been put down - old gravel has been taken up and put elsewhere, so the front of the house is neater as well as the back.
I still need to do the driveway - we have a double "hard standing"driveway in front of the garages, but also another driveway next to that which we used to have our boat on, before DFW ways demanded we sell it, and that is gravel, weeds, and "stuff".......that is quite a big job in itself and will need another 2 tonnes of gravel, and probably a skip as well, so another £250 or so to be spent there.......which dictates that it will have to make do with some weedkiller on it (done) and just a tidy up, for the time being.
It all looks a whole lot better than it did at the start of the month - we no longer let our neighbours down so much, and it should be a whole lot easier to keep on top of.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Are you ready for a deal I'll come and do your utility room and you come and do my garden - I'll provide the bark to put on the beds. It has rained so much here that we have not been able to cut the grass since we got back from holiday and we were away 3 weeks so you can imagine and of course we sacked the gardener and as he had been slacking the garden was not in the best shape to start out with so now it is like a jungle and it is still pouring down:eek:

Sounds like you have worked really hard and have reaped the rewards of a tidy garden, I'm glad you're pleased with it.
How did you find the bleach weed killer?
As for the shredding, personally I think it takes ages then the shredder keeps stopping (for a rest?) or jamming, so I put it in a metal bin in the garden and burn it.0 -
bleach killed some but not the really big ones - they got a dose of "roundup" this weekend and are now showing signs of weakness
DT, I am no good at gardening......and a gardener is on my list along with the cleaner, that I will have when I live in my nice house, with no debt  I don't even enjoy gardening - but like the house, I do like it tidy and of course it isn't! So from time to time it gets to the point where it is annoying me so much, the only thing to do is to get on and do it. Sadly the garden could do with so much more money and time spent on it - neither of which I really have, and I certainly don't have garden knowledge.
I do have 4 tomatoes on my last surviving tomato plant.........here's hoping for enough for a small salad :rotfl:
We have still had no rain - none for weeks - my grass is brown. But on the plus side, it doesn't need cutting :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
