We have had the hottest, driest summer for years! Thank goodness, really, because so much of our county relies on either tourism or farming, both of which have escaped torrential rain!
But of course, most of the time I have been stuck in an office with a piffling little desk fan for company
Still, it has meant that August was a successful "garden" month!
DD has just announced that she wants to sacrifice skiing abroad this season for some new bedroom furniture! The stuff she has is what FiL made for OH when he was a child, so it is somewhat past its best and a tad dated, so I think it is fair enough for her to want something new (and so do I!). She has found something in Next which we both like, so I will be saving for that instead of her ski fees.
DS on the other hand has said that he wants to ski more than anything, so will happily go without birthday/christmas presents again to help cover the cost.
And there was me thinking I could get rid of the barclayloan by Christmas - what planet must I have been on :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
We have still had no rain - none for weeks - my grass is brown. But on the plus side, it doesn't need cutting :rotfl:
Hmmmm you can have some of ours... its rained at some point every day for weeks here I think... :rotfl: No wonder Scotland rarely has water shortages! :rotfl: Its currently [STRIKE]dripping[/STRIKE] drizzlying (sp??)... that annoying not quite enough to put the brolly up but you still get damp type... :rolleyes:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
