Property is quite cheap on that bit of coast especially compared to poshier bits in North Norfolk or Sufolk round Southwold / Aldeburgh. Not sure if thats because its more likely to flood or being near Yarmouth drags it down :rotfl:

    Agreed!

But did find a map - lets face it lots of norfolk is stuffed if sea level rises much but that area deffo seems worst off.

    flood maps

Not a lot else appealing to me this week in the property !!!!!! or in my emails. Very odd with all the alledged price rises with very little improvement in economy  Not alot appears to be coming on to the market and nothings racing off. Few of my watched houses have gone SSTC but been like that for months and a few come back on.

Love the house - but could do without big paddling pool on doorstep in a few years time.

I'm quite chuffed I've got a plan now to clear debts - phoned for totals and weren't as bad as I expected . Transfered best part of one loan to 0% cc and will pay the remainder off in next couple of months. Next pay off cc that has 0% transfered to till Jan and lastly save in ISA to pay Abbeyloan off - !!!!!! - 'just like that' . I'm hoping to have it paid in a year. Bringing debt free date forward by 2 years :j. Haven't done it yet - but certainly couldn't have even contemplated it without you guys.

Off to get ready to go to wedding reception and hope cake was ok.

Wow that'd be a lot of flooded homes...

I'm just stuck with the possibility of flooding from a nearby river. There is supposedly higher flood defences going in sometime soon but they've been saying that for 6+ years with no action. They've now finished (or almost finished) the improved defences in other parts of the city that went to planning/consultation at the same time but the SRU kicked up such a fuss at the planning stage no-one knows when it'll happen near me. (They didn't want their back pitches used as a flood area - ermmmm... they're on a flood plain  :wall:) Work should have started in 2005 I think... I live in a flat so my flat itself is not at risk (possesion wise) but it does make it fun (and not overly cheap) finding buildings insurance as some providers wont cover my area as we are withing Xmetres of a river despite my building never having been flooded. There is a reason I could afford this flat!

Morning all - it is a long weekend :j

My student goes home in about an hour.....then we get the house back to ourselves for a bit which will be nice. The money has made a big difference though, this summer, with the student money going towards China and the Egg loan quite happily, so it has been well worth the effort.

I need to get the work done in the garden over the next couple of days - lots more digging needed, then getting something down to stop the weeds coming through, and putting the gravel down - hopefully by Monday it will look reasonably tidy. I need to buy some weed surpressant matting and some edging so that the gravel doesn't spill onto the grass, so a trip to B&Q will be in order for those where I shall endeavour not to spend any more than is absolutely necessary!

I also need to clean the inside of the conservatory roof this weekend - that was on my list for last week, but I got too hot, so as this weekend is slightly cooler, I will get that done too.

And I must must must get the kitchen and lounge done - they have slipped a bit this week and I need to get back on top of them before they get out of control completely!

Moneywise, I hope to keep things fairly cheap this weekend, and with the exception of basics (bread, milk, fruit veg) from the supermarket, and the trip to B&Q I have no spending plans.....famous last words

Off to do scratches and banking - have a good bank holiday everyone!
