Hypno there was a 15% voucher for B&Q on the home page, not sure if its still valid but worth a check before you go.

Edit to say I've just checked and there is 15% off everything if you spend over £50, no need for a voucher its automatic.

15% off will do me - I am sure that my spend will be over £50 by the time I have got the bits and pieces I need :T

I've just looked into switching my electricity/gas tariff, as my capped rate comes to an end on 1st October, but even taking cashback into account (of which there is very little) there is nothing out there that seems to improve on what I have been offered from E.on, so it looks like we will stay where we are.

shaun, the tent will generally be more waterproof, so I would say "go for it".......

Thats much better if you're driving past it - and they've got the 15% off too. Sorry you have a funeral to attend, Hypno, take care of yourself.

Shaun - yep, tent is *much* better than a cardboard box!

Enjoy the extra day off work- DH working today but got an extra day next weekend instead - hoping to find a nice but cheap b&b and stay in Welchpool for a couple of nights - so not planning much this BH weekend.

Going to make some cards in advance then I'm ready for future birthdays and not having to pay silly shop prices - got lots of card making stuff I never get round to using. Might even get around to making some cushion covers for scatter cushions - have been getting 'round tuit' for at least 18 months now - maybe todays the day  lol

Wedding went well - did lots of dancing and paying for it now :p - cake tasted good and was greatly admired - can't have been too bad as I was asked if I would make another guests wedding cake - which I turned down - used to make a lot but ended up not able to use my kitchen using profits on take aways - don't want to go back down that route.

Did dd get the job? Hope the sun shines and you get the garden finished Hypno - sounds like the month for a task is really paying off.

Good luck with the b&q spend, cant remember last time I was in there probably when we were in Wales. We'd have to drive into Cork around an hour so dont do that too often. Hope you get a good bargain with the garden stuff.
Hope you have a productive weekend, Im sure the garden will be looking splendid by Monday, then you can enjoy it.:T

DD didn't get the job, milann, but they will let her know if anything else comes up, so the search continues.

The funeral was very sad. Very moving - another who has been taken before her time, just 58. Very tough.

I got most bits from B&Q - didn't get the paving slabs because I couldn't see any that were a close enough match, so will have to hunt over the weekend. I will have a coffee, then get changed and get on.

We got a letter from the council tax office saying they will look into our claim for incorrect banding, so we shall wait to see what that produce. They say they hope to do so within two months, which is ok, I suppose!

Thanks inmydreams - it is hard work, but it is worth it........

My back hurts! We have dug and dug and dug, and shovelled gravel all afternoon. The back garden looks amazingly different......but it has been hard hard work. There is still some work to be done, but big big chunks have been finished, and I am pleased with progress so far.

OH has gone to get a takeaway - I can't remember the last time we had one - certainly several months ago, and after the day I've had, with the funeral and the back breaking work, I think we have earned it. I can adjust the shopping budget accordingly quite easily now the student has gone home. Beans on toast for Sunday dinner will be fine!

I got £7.50 from a bet this afternoon, so I will withdraw that and it can go in the barclayloan pot........not much, but it is all adding up!

Hope you have all had a good day.

58 .... so young. I'm sorry to hear that.

And you've been digging, too ....you see, thats where the difference comes in .... I did stuff in the local town today - Homebase, Tesco, got my hair cut, bought a computer mouse.... and then I came home and fell asleep :o definitely a senior moment. I feel I should say I'll work this evening, but its bank holiday, I'm off work next week, and I bought a little single-unit bottle of wine today .... so I won't be working :D

That's great you having a takeaway and very well deserved.
Bet your garden looks wonderful now especially after that back breaking work.
