Taka, I am *seriously* impressed. I don't think I really *want* to open another account, or keep a solo one - I have two savings accounts in 3 places, and two solo savings accounts in 2 more places, 8 in all, egg being one of the eight. I keep thinking of all the financial work my sister had to do when her husband died.... and she's my executor, so she'd have it all to do again if something happened to me. I want to simplify as much as I can, basically, so I'm much more likely to close a few than open a few (or even one....). But naming them is a really good idea, I do like it. I kind of categorise mine in my head, but don't name them. I think I will now ... watch this space!

I know what you mean - I've got way too many too, especially savings accounts. A+L are particularly bad as I can't work out how to shut them down online and have only been into a branch once where the staff member was quite rude (not doing that again in a hurry ) so I now have 4 with £1 in as their accounts keep being superceeded by a new product with better rates which I open and switch to! :rotfl: Its also been a condition of 2 of my ISAs to have an overflow savings accounts, so again these have £1 in  as the account minimum.

Poo... that means I have (*taka counts fingers, runs out of them and grabs calculater instead* :o)...
    7 (@ £1 :rotfl:) + 4 named ones I actually use + reg saver + another one +3 ISAs + 3 current accounts = 19 accounts :eek::eek::eek::eek:

I need a lie down... :o ... and to add rationalising/closing some accounts to this friday/weekend's jobs... :rotfl:

In other dfw stuff, I just did a really complicated telephone m/shop, that required quite a bit of acting. I have no idea if I've done enough to get paid - cos as well as acting sort of crazy, it also needed you to be very particular about what you told them, and I don't think I paid quite enough attention to that side of things :rotfl::rotfl:mind you, I often feel that way - "they're never going to pay me for that piece of junk!". And they always have... :D
I hope it has worked... fingers crossed!

No you're not... :D All I've done is make my own version of the MSE budget planner or a SOA and moved the excess bits to a savings account for later in the year so it balances out.

(I got a bit sick of my very random feast or famine style previous budgeting attempts :o. It also means I'm more motivated not to spend it if I've only got xyz to last the year.)

Um you were too busy with other money saving/earning plans! You have thought of it now though - so here's hoping your boss wants lots of hire cars!

Blimey and I thought I had loads! Glad I'm not the only one struggling to close A&L accounts online. I also have 3 with £1 in as the gits change the account and dump the rate down in the others sooo often.

Great thought with the quidco for work stuff Hypno - better late than never :rotfl:

Crikey, what a lightweight I am:
1 A&L Current (main one at the mo for the 6% interest for a year)
1 NWide Current - used mainly for o/seas
1 FD Current - only opened to get ISA
2 Smile Current - still think of these as my main accounts, will prob revert when A&L year is up
    1 Spanish Current

    2 Egg savings
    1 Egg offset mortgage savings
2 A& L savings - 1 supposedly closed but still showing, 1 to be closed next month
    1 FD ISA
1 Smile ISA - empty, being closed
    1 Spanish savings, empty

Hmmm, only 14, must try harder :) 12 of these, plus 2 Egg mortgages, show up on Egg Money, quite a big page now :)

    All hail Taka

    I have:

    4 current accounts - 2 Barclays, 1 FD, 1 Halifax
6 named pots - Holiday, Dentist/Glasses, House stuff, Skiing, Get rid of the Loan, Car costs
1 halifax un-named passbook account (pretty empty)
2 ING accounts - each containing £26 but have lost log in details
1 FD savings account - nil balance
1 Barclays ISA - less than £2 balance
4 Barclays savings accounts - less than £2 balance
1 Egg savings accounts - £2 in......no using it out of stubborness!

    So that makes 20........:o

If only they all had money in them.

Or if half of them had money in them :rotfl:

In fact, I think my pennies jar has a bigger balance than the above all combined :rotfl:
