its a hard question to think about really ...these people dont know differently ...can anyone here say they didnt waste stuff before they found M.S.E i know i cant ...i also know i cant say i dont now ...yes to alot of us it seems absurd and money is flowing through their hands like water but maybe theyre 7k is the equivilent of our £ 500 a year (£10 a week) ...yes i do think the programme should have people that are living on that for a year instead of throwing that away but then the presenters would actually have to be inventive and think outside the box and they possibly didnt sign up for that ...
whilst i do agree it does get people angry i dont think we should judge... there are many people on here that have over 100k of debt to clear due to overspending or whatever and we dont judge them (and nor should we) maybe we should be the same for these people that waste money on food ...after all they are learning their lessons aswell
and after all there is always the off button remember save yourself the stress and a wee bit of electricity0 -
well said Elantan, I'm all for it if it means there's less waste whatever folk are spending - less on the landfill sites after all.Mortgage OP 2026 £860/2000Mortgage balance: £31,763

i dont think these people have a clue about what their doing
comparing to mse debtors ( 100k) is not a fair comparison
i would say with the money they are spending they have never had to go with out anything??WAS DEBT FREE & STILL BAAARRRRRKING

it wasnt meant as a dig shaun purely as a point out to show none of us are perfect ...they obviously dont know what they are doing otherwise they wouldnt be on a programme looking for help ...i still dont know what i am doing i am getting my help in a different way (mse) i am just saying we shouldnt judge..
we also dont know if they have never had to go without ...we can assume they havnt but we will never know ...and maybe what they will go without is not money related maybe community related (like the mse community perhaps)or something else0 -
no ..i dident take your comments as a dig....but go all over this site and a lot of people are digging ....probably ,,,me as well i think its a gut reaction without thinkingit wasnt meant as a dig shaun
if these people had come on here two weeks ago...and said help this is my soaand maybe what they will go without is not money related maybe community related (like the mse community perhaps)
agreed
they would have been buried in folks pointing them in the right direction
as i said i haven't seen the program,,,,,but could it be anything to do with bad journalisem :rolleyes:WAS DEBT FREE & STILL BAAARRRRRKING

i think you have hit the perverbial nail on the head ...bad journalism ...but then at the same time alot of programmes etc are aimed at the poorer end of the scale and the less poorer end tend to get left and they need help as well .... and maybe they dont know about this wonderful place ...i only found out about it thanks to my nephew i never watch gmtv or listen to the radio so wouldntve heard of martin any other way (as far as i know thats all he is one but not sure) ...i can totally understand why people are feeling annoyed ...it must be frustrating to say the least to see people wasting what is in effect their full income ...i think it would annoy me too so i aint watching it i'll use the off button and get my help here0

playing devils advocate here shaun sorry ...i am so bad for it i do it without even realising ...i tend to go for the underdog without even noticing lol0

if they earn enough not to worry about spending 21K on food that to me is incredible but just because it's not comparable with my income doesn't make them wrong. also if you don't learn to cook at home and go straight from uni into a high stress job working really long hours than you might get used to buying lots of ready made stuff and takeaways. Having a low stress job with low pay helps me in this respect:D. Horses for course and all that!Mortgage OP 2026 £860/2000Mortgage balance: £31,763
