How odd although the program makers probably feel they've been terribly frugal :rotfl:

Thanks Gally for opening up another world of property !!!!!! for me. I've often thought about small house near work and one on norfolk coast but now thinking Spain :D

Oh, and next weeks programme is about a family who currently spend £21,000 a year on food.

Yup, you read it right

Well they work on the basis that you start with a "core" dish, that you can adapt - rather like we advise on here - grab a roast chicken for £3....roast on Sunday, stir fry chicken on Monday, chicken risotto on Tuesday and chicken and veg soup on Wednesday......

Except they started off with "£20 worth of beef, but it will do 15 portions" (ie 3 meals).

OK, so "old style" says, grab a chicken, spend £3 and feed your family for 4 days.......and BBC2 says "pay £20 for some beef and feed your family for 3 days".......

Gallygirl - I love love love that pool. I have a euro in my purse left over from skiing, that I sometimes use in my shopping trolley - I am happy to donate it to the cause.......

Ye Gods! £20 of beef would do the two of us for two weeks solid! (and that includes the occasional sandwich as well!), we can make a chicken last a week (sometimes longer depending how we do on the stock front :D)

Thanks for all the help folks, I reckon I only need around €274,950 now :rotfl:.

You'll all be welcome to stay of course, but not sure if I can stretch to free alcohol (I know what you lot are like ;)) and I certainly won't be spending 21k on food . Looks like they put more down the waste disposal than most families actually eat :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Just remembered I've got a wodge of euros that I never bothered to swap back as rate was poor (very un MSE though!) I'll chuck them in the pot if I can bags a sunbed near the pool & I'll bring my own bar :rotfl:

I have some annoying property !!!!!!. Colleague at work said she driven past lovely house just my style like a Jane Austen home. So I went hunting for details. Things she's over estimated my budget by a very long way :rotfl:

Its overpriced as they bought it late 2007 for 380K and whilst they've done lots of work its not worth that much! think of their profit
