Sorry No Picture with this one, you will have to use your imagination, I suppose its similar to the match boxes in a way
Instructions:
Here is another advent calendar, this one requiring a little more crafting skills -- making it perfect for your older children.
Materials & Tools
13 empty toilet paper rolls
Scissors
Craft glue
Construction paper
Acryllic paint and brushes, optional
Black permanent marker
Small pieces of wrapped candy
Poster board
Directions
1.Cut each of the toilet paper rolls in half. Paint them or cover them in construction paper
2.Trace around the end of one of the rolls on construction paper 50 times. Cut out the circles.
3.Glue a circle onto one end of each roll of toilet paper. Let dry.
4.Put a piece of candy in each roll.
5.Glue a circle onto the other half of the roll.
6.Use the black markers to label the rolls #1-25.
7.Arrange the cups from 1-25 on the poster board. You can do this in rows or in a Christmas shape, such as a tree or a candy cane.
8.Glue the bottom of each one down to the poster board
9.On each day of the month of December, let your child peel off the circle covering on the top end of the roll and enjoy their candy treat.

I've got a load of loo roll middles so may give it a go over the weekend with the kids and see how it comes out, might try adapting it so it can be reused though.:D:D:D:D

sarah - looking at those instructions for the advent calendar I'm a bit relieved I managed to find a felt one with little pockets in that can be re-used every year................lol Don't think I could master doing a loo roll or matchbox one.
Little idea OH came up with and I just remembered
If you've got any really small flowerpots (we had some little red ones with a seed pack)
cover the hole at the bottom with cardboard
fill it with birdseed
Pop some perspex on the top and with a glue dot stick a Robin on it
'Robins's Christmas Breakfast'
OH was so pleased he had an idea..................lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I know what you mean about the instructions, mine never come out how the pics look so could get away with the loo roll one LOL as I don't know what it should look like to start with.
Love OH idea, I love having birds in the garden, and I have some small plant pots in the cupboard, will have to get some bird seed though.
Tell him thanks for the idea.:D:D:D:D

Well the thing is all my others have been between a week and 12 days late - but I really want this one (here on in known as Baby Daisy) to arrive on time or maybe a few days early because DH is on a grotty 2 year course as of September which doesn't allow him to take his paternity leave until the course is finished . If she comes outside of his leave dates he'll be back to work the next day and i'm not sure i'll be able to manage that.Mummy to 4, Grafter, Comper, Blogger
