At last, have to apologise I can not figure how to upload photos to these pages - hense next best thing photobucket

    http://s431.photobucket.com/albums/qq33/mum2one2002/Sanats challenge/

The photos are in reverse (tried the logic approach - start to finish, but photobucket does finish to start.

Just of photos (look at last one first plz (sorry)

    1. Very boring cereal box, just crying out for a 1970s makeover courtesy of Blue Peter

    2. Where box has been cut, the front lower part, 10cm from base of the box, drew a line across the front, the back, thats 15cm from base, again line across, for the diagional I just joined the two points

    3. with the spare part of the box, cut panels to match the front, rear and 2 sides, trim them down slightly

Also cut a piece for the base, as this comes into use last

    4. Before you start (if your useing one sheet of wrapping paper, cut in half, one half put to the side as that is needed for the main box, use the 2nd half for the inside etc

The inside pieces + base piece, covered with paper, (same as ur going to use for the box), I've got the side showing that has all the tape and the folding of the paper - doesnt matter as that side gets stuck into the inside of the box,

5.Find the full piece of paper, wrap around the box, keep the join seem at the side of the box, wrap around, but cut down the front and sides of the paper, to ensure you fully cover the front and stick the over-lap inside the box.
(dont worry if its messy inside the box - as we will be putting the inside panels last,

    6.the box frontage fully covered

    7. At this stage I have put the inside panels in, ideally back, front then the side panels last (thats why we cut them slightly smaller as we have papered them

The base is done the same principal, but the rough side, this is what the box is stuck onto to hides all the fold overs etc.

This box mades an ideal letter rack, so you could add notelets, personalise the front of the box, (or all over) with glitter photos of the children (great for grandparents).

The paper needs to be a darker colour as so the cereal box does not show through.

The same principal can be used on box that holds 12 weetabix or cup a soup boxes, (as they would make ideal for side of phone, pen, pencil, mini notebook).

Great items for kids to do, I did mine in 10mins - with children allow 30-40mins, maybe more depending on how they decorate, the only real cost is the price of the wrapping paper - locally for me thats 12p - great fun gift. xx

xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Yes it's in excel and you set it up doing calculations and when you type things in certain coloumns it does maths things. My boyfriend wanted me to control my present spending and he set it up for me, it is really helpful, but like I said to SugarSpun, you have to keep it up to date otherwise it defeats the object! I am a list person and a folder person too, I am going to try doing both.

I couldn't be without my spreadsheet for present planning, I have column for name, 3 columns for presents (1 mum, 1 for me, 1 for dd), then columns with ideal budget, actual spend, saving, original cost of presents,

then I use one line at the bottom to add all the figures into, so everytime I alter a price it does it for me, if you get stuck give me a pm and if I can help I will.

and I am addicted to cadbury's giant buttons!

    Hey, Buttons!

Are you a distant relative of the Sparkly-Toes clan?? lol

Had my 20 week scan yesterday and naughty baby was shy and didn't want to have all the measurements taken. Took 3 scans and 2 1/2 hours and the sonographer still didn't get everthing she needed! So I'm back next Thursday to be prodded and poked a bit more! Was hoping to find out the gender yesterday too. Boooo.

Back to Christmas - I think I've finally convinced OH that I need his input regarding some present choices, so he should expect the odd email every week talking about offers on websites and whether or not they'd be suitable for his cousins children etc. He seems happy with that - not as if he's doing the work! lol

My spreadsheet is very simple at the moment. One 'sheet' for christmas cards, including people's addresses all laid out ready for a mail merge later int he year. Anotehr sheet for people who we're buying pressies for (which will also include what we get from them this year) and shows how much I paid for each item, and how much it SHOULD have cost. Nice to compare totals at the bottom of the page!! :T

The cinnamon bread sounds lovely!! Is is very sweet? How do you eat it (what with?) when it's cooked?

    Hi Everyone

I seem to have a bit more energy today so have been putting it to good use, cleared our bedroom out and stripted and remade the bed, done the kids room too, have a bag of stuff for the charity shop and 2 bags for the bin:eek:, just:eek: refilled all my ink cartridges so I can start printing some pages off, just need to figure out how to get the laptop hooked upto the printer so i don't have to use the dinosaur to print off my sheets.

OH has took the kids out for the day so I have lovely peace and quiet, and my coffee is starting to taste like coffee again:j so I must be on the mend.

Catch you all in a bit

    Hey all,

First massive thanks for the tutorial. I`m thinking of including some printed notepaper from one of the earlier links and making a little writting set for a few aunts etc.
I made the biscuit pops..........kind of a disaster. Things I`ve learnt for next time is reduce the amount of melted chocolate by a third. And not to use peanut butter to stick them together. It`s also hard to covered them intirely without them falling off the sticks. OH says they taste fantastic though.
I`ll post a few pics later this afternoon for all to laugh at.
