Received my first parcel of goodies from Flowerhour :p very pleased with that and just wish I could get wrapping something!!

Still on the lookout for suitable boxes to do retro sweeties and as lots of sales on at the moment looking out for any bargains for the kids in the family which I can keep for Christmas. (Local BHS was selling clothes for £1 and £5 but nothing jumped out at me)

Folder coming along nicely, calendar done on when I hope to have things completed, obviously list of presents and progress there as well as detailed spreadsheet - sheet for each person - of everything bought, where from, any discount and actual prices. (sad!!??)

Need to order more stuff to make the bath bombs and make a start on those so still feeling motivated.

    Hello everyone!

I've been lurking for about a week or so and am now SO excited about Christmas. Hubby thinks I'm mad, but nothing new there!

I've ordered my first 4 christmas pressies yesterday, and the total came to less than £20, so I'm happy!

Last year I was quite crafty - in the food sense anyway! - we made food hampers for different friends and family members which included Christmas tree shaped shortbread biscuits, citrus cake and some chocolate truffles!!! Went down really well, but unfortunately this year it won't be practical (meant a lot of baking the night before we sawy people!) - we're expecting our first baby in the middle of December!!!! Wooooo!

So this year might have to be a bit craft free.....although I do fancy doing the Snowman poops.....how long do the marshmallows last in cellofane bags??

Oh and I also did Christmas cards using a picture we took on our honeymoon of 3 male lions. I photoshopped a crown on each one and wrote beneath "We three kings...". lol people loved them but I have NO idea what to do this year. Might have to dig out my old cross stitch stuff...

Someone just mentioned "365 facts"? What was that one? Sounds interesting! I want to add it to my Christmas Idea Notebook!!! lol (all you lot's fault for me having that!!)

Haven't defrosted the freezer yet (it needs it!) - we're off camping this weekend for a few days, so I'll be looking at doing the freezer in the next week or so!

I'm normally pretty organised for christmas (start hasselling people for christmas lists earlier than everyone thinks in necessary lol :D) but I think from now onwards, the earlier the better. So I'm a bit of a newbie with getting ready this early on, so I've missed out on getting cheap wrapping paper and stuff. Picked up 3 rolls I think, but nothing else....so if anyone sees any fab deals on wrapping paper, let me know?

Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all you lovely people for allowing me to get Christmas Crazy nice and early and to show me that I'm not alone!! lol

That was a bit of a long post for a first post!! Sorry!! :snow_laug

    Xmas Saver!
    Hi Clare

Welcome to the mad world of xmas planning, congratulations on the Dec baby, guess its organised early.

Just a thought re food hampers, could you change it slightly and use some shop items, I do 2 food trays for the neighbours both older men, inc things like mini jams (go to Morrisons - sell all yr round -) 5 jars of mini jam / marmalades £1.00, add some shortbread etc.

Dont forget the choc, u need a treat after doing the freezers xx

    Hi mum2one!

Thanks for the welcome! Just been copying and saving a few sweet recipies that you posted on another thread!! lol

Think I'll give the food hamper idea a miss this year, but thanks for that. I really wante to find those mini-jams to put in my Nan's hamper, but could I find any?! Checked ASDA, Tesco, Aldi...didn't think of Morrisons!! I shall keep that in mind for the future!

Going to definitely do a movie night hamper for my friend and her little boy (amazon voucher, popcorn, pop, beer for her, sweets, etc etc.) and thinking of recycling some unwanted gifts to make into pamper hampers for SIL and one of my friends.....still thinking really......

Oooo and I'm going to a PYO farm this weekend, so I'll be making raspberry jam very soon!! Extra pressies!!

Better stop, before this gets too long again... lol

Hi Clare, I've got a list in Word/Excel of 365 facts that you can print, cut up and pop in a jar/box for a cheapie present. I gave a jar to my dad and one to OH for his desk at work. If you are interested please pm me your email address and I'll send you the list.
