Me: I NEED HELP! (chorus: "we know!")
But seriously! I need some inspiration. I've come down with some hideous throat infection, I'm tingling all over (not in a good way!) and need to disguise the fact that the christmas stockings are in fact mini sacks.
I need a witty poem.
Along the lines of:
sending you this gift from the north pole seeing as youve been good girls and boys
we've been poor this year so a £15 stocking has been made to bring some xmas cheer
santas tailors had a mishap and cut the wrong shapes so you'll have to make do with a mini sack instead
... but I want it to rhyme!!!
its only for my mum dad and fiance but they'll wonder what the hells going on!

Not very brilliant, but may be a starting point, (better with captions and photos)
Here goes....
Were you good boys and girls or were you bad?
Poor Santa’s run off his feet and can’t decide!
So its been left to us little elves
to pick up the pieces, and ring the bells.
Those bells woke the elves,
Who were sleeping on the shelves.
So these poor sacks were the best
that without a rest they could muster
Thou I’m sure Santas stocking
would have been a buster,
As for Santa’s Wallet,
He has a padlock, on it,
And us poor elves
Could only muster £15.
Pennies from heaven it was not,
So maybe 2010 your be good boys and girls!
.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
thanks as well mum2one - LIFESAVERS both of you

Morning all. I am very grumpy Mummy this morning as the kids had me up about 5 times during the night, wanting drinks, then wees etc this was after it had taken an hour of me shouting at them to get them to sleep in the first place! GGGRRRRRRRRR
I have them sitting on the floor colouring Christmassy pictures at the moment, but they are only 2 and 3 so I estimate this will keep them busy for about another 4 minutes
OH only has half a day at work today then he said he's going to go buy me a present. Intrigued...
Jobs for today
- Post cards that didn't get posted yesterday
- Make some mince pies with my HM mincemeat now it's defrosted
- Wrap the last 2 presents, and OH's CD if it arrives today.
- Pick up last few bits of shopping - Redcurrant Jelly, Milk, Cheddar and Pate.
- Decide when to cook all the joints of meat, was going to do Gammon today but as it doesn't need overnight soaking as I'm doing the Coca Cola recipe I'll do it tomorrow with the duck and beef.
And of course general cleaning, cooking and housework...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

JojoMamanBebe Sale has started, some lovely bargains - trying to stop myself ordering maternity clothes as I'll only need them for another month! Pretty baby stuff though and lovely quality.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Since my last post I have mopped and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, washed up twice, washed bedding, done another load of washing, made 32 mince pies (using my HM mincemeat), made 4 bottles of Mulled Wine, made another batch of roast potatoes for the freezer, taken meat out to defrost, wrapped two more presents...
am now exhausted and my bump aches lol so am sitting down now...
Just a tip regarding ground cinnamon - definitely worth buying Schwartz! I ususally get Tesco own spices but bought a posh one to use for my mulled wine and the look, smell and taste is SOOOOOOO different! In comparison the Tesco one barely smells of anything.
OH is home, he's managed to buy me a present, though he did get stuck in the car park and have to dig himself out! (Luckily he's a gardener so had a spade!)June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Great poems, well done both of you.
Ragz you sound like you have had a busy day, feet up for you for the rest of the day.
We are off to my son's in a bit for the first round of Christmas activities. Off to the other daughters tomorrow evening then home for Christmas day then its off to Dad's Boxing day as the rest of the family are congregating there. We have quite a big family so will be a houseful.
Update on Dad while I am here, my Sil rung the hospital yesterday as we still hadnt heard anything about the bone scan. Didnt get the results as such, said the Dr is on holiday this week but we should be getting a letter after Christmas with his next appointment in it and its going to be in 3 months time. This has cheered Dad up a bit as we are all hoping it means the cancer hasnt spread (wouldn't they have called him in sooner if it had?). He has said that he is not getting up so much for the toilet in the night either so hoping like mad that it means the medication he is on is working. Anyway, we are keeping our fingers crossed. At least we can have a better Christmas now.
Love to you all and in case I dont get back on again over next few days have a Merry Christmas everyone. See you on the new thread Rufus xx0 -
